This step stool feels like a rock, very sturdy, I have no doubt that it could hold 500lbs. It is also pretty heavy though, which makes it difficult for me to move it around. The steps are made of MDF (engineered wood product), which I was disappointed by, but not surprised as this is the same as most things now days. The media could not be loaded. If you're looking for a stylish step stool that will last a lifetime, and beyond, the Asysow Wooden Step Stool is for you. I had the product assembled in under 30 min, with most of that time spent admiring the quality of build, and cleverness of the design. These two elements are uniquely intertwined in this step stool, with one enhancing the other. Bottom line, there’s so much to like with this step stool, and very little, if anything, to flag. Here’s a few feature points to consider: ✅ ADVANTAGES ✅ • The listing description is accurate and reliable. • Clear, and well guided (by numbers) assembly instructions. • Heavy gauge metal (where used) with a smooth, satin power coat finish to protect the base metal. It also provides an industrial look that blends perfectly with the stool design. • The wood frame is solid with plenty of support bracing. Elements are secured with a combination of screws and adhesive. • Engineered wood steps for strength, sealed with a durable finish. • Unique trapezoidal shape uses geometry to strengthen and stabilize the assembly. While at the same time bringing the two steps into the optimal alignment for easy stepping. • The bottom step is extra deep for a well-balanced and secure “first-step” platform. • The build plan leaves no protruding screw heads. This enhances the smooth design, while protecting against possible snags (with skin or fabric). • The final stool assembly is very stable, with absolutely no wobble. Anti-slip rubber pads on the legs add another level of secure footing. ❗️LIMITATIONS❗️ • None This is about the best well designed and crafted step stool I’ve seen in some time. And it’s definitely among the very best step stools, period. It's not just the trapezoidal design or the quality of the materials used. It's also the thought that went into the assembly plan. All of the parts fit perfectly. No misaligned holes, no threaded nuts or bolts that aren't fully cut, or are cut incorrectly. None of that sloppy shop work. Instead, the tolerance of the build spec is very tight, and it shows. This is an outstanding product and more than deserving of a 5-star rating. This stool was easy to unpack and came with instructions that were easy to follow. The instructions seemed to lack some clarity in a couple of areas. It doesn't talk about orientation at all, so that was something I had to figure out on my own. It also doesn't talk about how the plastic screw covers work; it just says to insert them. Overall, assembly was more complicated than I expected, but the method of assembly allows for perfect alignment without trying to eyeball it, something I appreciated a great deal. Connection points use threaded inserts in the panels to provide quality stability. The panels themselves appear to be MDF coated with some kind of plastic layer, giving the panels a shiny, easy-to-clean surface with a heavy feel. Unfortunately, MDF is prone to damage from over-tightening, even with threaded inserts lending support. It wasn't as bad as it would have been without the threaded inserts, but I definitely noticed bowing around the threaded inserts even with just hand-tightening the bolts that connect to the panels. I was careful not to tighten any bolts further once I noticed any bowing at all, but I am not a strong person, and it would not have been over difficult for me to tighten some of them down even further. The ones that go into metal instead of MDF were a lot more sturdy and tightened down properly, though. The plastic covers that go over the inset bolt holes were a bit of a problem for me. I think there may be too much variance in manufacturing, but I'm not 100% positive whether it's the plastic covers or the holes they go in that have variance. Maybe it's both. Either way, some of the covers went in some holes easier than others, and it took me about half an hour of trying to fit the right ones into the right holes before I finally got them all seated. The last one really didn't want to go at all. Even once I got them slotted, they didn't want to seat properly, so I took a rubber mallet to them to seat them where they belonged. Once they were in, they look great and seem to stay in place without any wiggling or loosening. On a side note, if you have a rubber mallet, tap that thing against one of the metal legs or crossbars for a very nice melodic tone. These things have some serious resonance, and I found it beautiful. Once I got it assembled, even with some of the bolts still feeling like they had too much room left to tighten them, I had no issues with stability. The stool is completely stable, sturdy, and unyielding. I was tentative with my first test of full body weight, but after standing on it for a few seconds without any give at all, I gave it a little bounce test and nothing... no give, no wobbling, completely stable. I have no concerns about this holding my weight, and I am not a small person. I still have some concern that the bolts that weren't completely tight might loosen over time, but I'll keep an eye on them and tighten back down as needed until they settle. Overall, I'm pleased. It came together beautifully and holds my weight easily. It should be an excellent step stool for around the house. ... show more

This is a nice little stepstool that looks exactly like the pictures in the listing. It was fairly easy to assemble and feels sturdy now that it's put together. The top step especially is pretty narrow, so this might be better for kids than adults, unless you have good balance and/or something to brace yourself against. So far I've used it as a stool/seat while cleaning cat litter boxes on the floor and it worked well for that. ... show more
