  • Great game but requires at least 7
Recently played Werewolves with a large group of friends when renting a cabin in the mountains for the weekend and could not have had more fun with a deck of cards! We played for HOURS every day and never grew bored as the addition of roles always makes the game new and exciting! Right after the trip, I went on Amazon and bought my own deck because I knew I had to have it. The Prices for games are so high now that having a easy fun game that can keep a large group of people entertained for this price is the best part! The most I've played with in one game is 17 players and everyone had a blast! The only downside is that the minimum requirement to play is 7 players which can be tricky to get sometimes and have everyone settle down for a game. But if you have a large group of people that love playing a game, this is a must have! And super easy to travel with! ... show more

  • Decent quality cards
Game is not easy to teach to a group with other things on their mind- has to be the priority of the moment. Cards are a decent quality, had to get the instructions online was a little annoying since the first time I tried to play this I was on a boat with no service - would still be annoying on land though ... show more

  • Fun Party Game!
Super fun game to play with a big group of friends! Our friend group has played Secret Hitler before (which you can download for free, FYI), so we were familiar with the concept of the game, but I really like the game play of this one better. You can add or take away a variety of characters with different powers (like the town drunk, a Villager who can't speak, or the Alpha Werewolf who has to use the word werewolf at least once every day) so game play can be varied if you start to get bored. I am not the best at being a werewolf (I'm way too readable) but I love that there's a moderator role! It allows you to be a part of the game and know all the secrets without really playing. If you have a large group of friends or family and are looking for a fun game that is also easy to transport, buy this game. ... show more

  • Good game!
I already had One Night Werewolf and another in its series and my students loved those. But in Korea, they play a similiar game called, Mafia. And they like that more. So I tried changing the Werewolf games to be more like Mafia, but my stupid mind couldn't do it. So instead, I tries searching for a game that was like Mafia but with Werewolf characters. And this was the closest one I found. And I don't regret buying it. The only thing that stumps me is that on the first day phase, I don't know how to moderate well. Do I use the character name or the player's name when I anmounce things? ... show more

  • Well worth the money, I take it everywhere.
This was probably one of the best spur of the moment decisions I've made. Yes, you can play this game without special cards (and I have) but not only does this majorly simplify the process of teaching and playing, but the simple art on the cards is beautiful (very simple and clean). I also love that this makes it easy to get a large group playing quickly (I ran a group of around 20 at work and all we had to do was pass out the cards and briefly explain the roles. Having these cards in a handy deck means you can always have it with you in case people want to play. ... show more

  • WAY over priced for what you get, but a great game in general!
Thes cards are completely unnecessary, as we have been playing the game just fine by writing out the roles on index cards or assigning rolls to standard playing cards... However, I wanted a nice/neat set of cards that I could bring with me when I travel, and appreciated that the entire "game" is the same size as a standard deck of playing cards. The game itself is great, and I've played it in numerous countries and never had any issues with explaining it to people who don't speak English as a first language or who aren't use to such games. It's easy to learn, simple to play, and great for parties. However, it does require at least 7 players in order for it to really work (10+ would be best), and it's not always easy to find that many interested players. Another great game is Coup (I bought it as an add-on item for $5), which works great with 3+ players! At this price you would be better off making the cards yourself, or having one master index card and using a standard deck of playing cards (A=Werewolf, K=Doctor, Q=Witch, J=Seer and any number cards equal villagers). This deck of cards shouldn't cost more than $5 MAX, as the quality isn't as good, nor are the designes as intricate, as a $1 deck of playing cards... Another added benefit of using playing cards is that if they get lost or damaged (wet, bent, or otherwise marked in a way that would give away what it is), you can toss the card, or the entire deck, and only be out $1). ... show more
