I want to stress this as much as I can.... this is made of PAPERBOARD. What happens when you get paper wet? It disintegrates. Yes, it’s stylish. Sure, it’s functional and easy to put together. But if you have a little heathen of a cat like mine, who likes to cram herself into the further corner of the litter box and pee on the edge of the box, creating the inevitable and dreaded splashback, this litter box cover will last approximately 2 weeks. Just spend the extra $30 and buy the litter box furniture made out of manufactured wood — or AT LEAST particleboard. I noticed something was wrong when I was cleaning the litter box and was slapped in the face by a grotesque smell. Like, regular cat pee (I am, in fact, face-first in a litter box) combined with a whiff of bitter, chemical-waste. I moved the litter box out of the cover to find that the paperboard had swelled up, cracked, and was emitting this HEINOUS odor. I’m assuming it’s what they used to treat the paper with combined with the splashback of my little gremlin’s urine that created this noxious smell. Would NOT recommend unless you have a cat who is polite and considerate enough to do their business in the exact middle of the box, and even then... this is literally just a snazzy cardboard box for you to put your litter box in. ... show more

Of all the things I buy on Amazon, I have had the worst luck with furniture. I don't expect heirloom quality, but I'm surprised that this product made it out of the prototyping phase. To start with, this entire product is made of cardboard. This isn't as bad as it sounds; the pieces are made from glue-ups of several sheets of cardboard, so they are about 3/4" thick. This is covered in the woodgrain vinyl sticker that you see, which looks pretty good in person. The cardboard construction raises some concerns. If it gets wet (which seems likely, given its purpose), I imagine that will cause serious problems. It is reasonably sturdy, however. The construction methods make no sense at all. The various pieces have a few short wooden dowels to help you align them, like most assembly-required furniture pieces. However, the cardboard construction won't retain screws or cam locks, so the product is held together with...double sided tape?! Yes, this product gets "glued" together using double sided tape attached to the edges of the various components. This doesn't add confidence to an already shoddy build, and it makes assembly decidedly one-way. You cannot disassemble this thing or collapse it down for storage or moving. According to the manufacturer, the construction materials were chosen because the environment. Honestly, a note saying, "What did you expect?" would have been less insulting. Ignoring for the moment that trees are a renewable resource and that cardboard is both biodegradable and compostable, the particle board that 99% of Amazon's furniture selections are made from is already an industrial waste product. Zero trees were saved by this decision, as the manufacturer well knows. Lastly, the product arrived damaged in multiple places--but the packaging was not. Given that the product and packaging are made from the same material, it's clear that the damage happened before packaging occurred. In other words, somebody at the factory damaged the product, could not be bothered to make it right, and so decided to make it the customer's (my) problem. This would have been returned if not, first: it wasn't so frustrating to play Tetris trying to fit furniture pieces back in the box, and second: I had already assembled some pieces (with the double sided adhesive) by the time I discovered the damage. As it is, it faces the rear of the piece, and does not affect it's function. Two stars. Three stars if you get an item that is undamaged. Roll those dice if you want to. ... show more

    • Super easy, very attractive, having issues with the doors

I really like how easy this was to put together. The construction seems to be very sturdy overall but the doors did not fit in well and the bottom of them bent very easy and are now broken. I like to product and hate to send it back because i need it, but the hinge apparatus is now falling apart. My cats are not going inside because I think it's just too far back inside of a box and that freaks them out. They are using the scratch pad in the front though. And actually one of my cats keeps pooping outside the front door of it. ... show more

You'll definitely need to glue this togeather. Instructions are partly clear except for the fact that they don't label the peices so you'll need to figure out what is what on your own. Also it says no screws needed/ used but there are 4 screws they give you to screw in the magnetic peices that hold the door shut. No use using the screws they don't work you can just push them in with your finger so I had to glue them. I put glue in every hole then put the pegs in and glued along each side that attached togeather. After that the thing is very sturdy. You'll need to wipe any glue that runs down the sides from the top peices so thankfully I got clear glue. This item is true to size so that's a plus. Over all I am happy with it for the price. Now off to find a cat box to fit inside. ... show more

Came damaged, it was slightly crushed in on 2 corners, barely noticeable. I put wood glue on the dowels in each hole. To hold together because i read somewhere the box collapsed on a ladys cat in the reviews. The tape on the pieces tape really well. My main concern is you need put a mat down under your cat box to soak up any liquids. It's not waterproof. Or get a cat box that your cat isn't going to miss its mark and pee on tue outside of the box. That's another pointer. If you want to make it waterproof you can lay flooring or wallpaper on the pieces and caulk the inside seams lmao! Other wise. Hides cat box great. ... show more
