The phone goes vertically and when I tried horizontally, it would not charge. I thought it was intended to only work vertically. It charged phone and watch well. Great for travel. Took with me on a week long business and a vacation trip and so glad I did. But I was hoping for a vertically charging, displaying one when I saw that this actually does that. I checked and it did. Just not effective/efficiently. And then towards end of 3rd month, I woke up one morning and phone was not fully charged. I thought it was not placed properly but it has happened consistently since, even after ensuring phone is charging when I leave it vertically on stand. And I charge without a case. I purchased this charging dock as something quick and cheap, and that’s exactly what it is. I read through reviews and all that and thought it would be fine, but like others after only a few uses my Apple Watch cable was trashed. Ive only had this for 2 days, as of writing this. Im no expert but I think the problem comes with how you bend your cable to fit inside. I tried plugging my charger into the wall as normal, and that didn't work anymore. Everything else on the dock works fine, just the watch part is flawed. I just got another charger and I’m going to try having it out of the complicated maze to see if that helps. Edit 9/12/2022: Ive been using the new charger I bought and haven’t had any issues with keeping it out of the internal wire maze. As long as you keep the watch charger outside of the back plate there’s no issues. I coil my charger up in a natural coil that the charger comes as just to keep it tidy (over under technique for you audio engineers and a/v techs). One thing I’ve noticed, the phone charger sometimes doesn’t register my phone and I have to take it off, wait a second, and put it back on, sometimes multiple times. It may just be an issue with my case thickness. I’m improving my rating from 3, to 4 stars simply because the only issue I've had was the horrible design of the internal wire holder, but with avoiding that it works perfectly fine. I’ve had this for months now and would buy again if needed. Edit 12/21/2023: This thing is still going strong. Keeping the rating as is due to the continuation of the issue with it not detecting my phone sometimes. I have a different, thinner case and it still does it sometimes. Watch charger still working fine with avoiding the internal maze as mentioned in my last update. I also found out you can charge your phone landscape for those of you that use the nightstand feature, tho be mindful its not designed for that so your phone will hang off one side of the base and it may fall if you bump the table or something, but it does work. I haven’t used the airpod charging for a while now so I can’t comment on how that holds up, but since its just the male end of a charger sticking out, I can imagine over time that becoming an issue. Tho trying to move it with my finger, the airpod charger doesn’t seem flimsy or poorly installed so it may have a shot at longevity. The only reason I would purchase a different product is purely for aesthetics or for something with less features that I no longer need. This little thing holds up really well, its not super bulky on your nightstand, charges about how one can expect with a magnetic charger, and for the price I don't think it can be beat by some of the other options you can find on Amazon! ... show more
