    • Great product, works as advertised, saved a $150.00 trip to vet..though kind of expensive for what it is.
lake loving puppy got earache.. was gross. this stuff works, immediately and clears the issue in a few days. only use as recommended as the main purple ingredient is a derivative of coal, like the stuff they use in dandruff shampoos. prolly toxic but antibiotics and antifungals could be worse and are definitely harder on dogs stomachs and immune systems so..net/ net win. I usually go with vinegar, alcohol, water equal parts for my ears to fresh them up after swimming, sometimes adding a drop of tea tree oil in it to pump up the medicinal effect.. did not seem to work on dog, though it probably would have after a while. this stuff, you have to get it in the ear, not just a few drops either, especially the first few times, I loaded it up and massaged both ears for at least a minute every time. Was clear in 4 days, I used for 5. I also put a splash in every month or so when they're swimming heavy in late and early summer when it's cold at night/ morning. Also, I found a site where they have the recipe to this.. so you don't have to spend $25 bucks on 20 cents of product and water. I bought all the ingredients to make gallons for under 8 bucks.. genetian violet, boric acid, alcohol, water.. find it online, i don't recall the amounts. Carefull about what you read online too. Dog hated it, most dogs unless they totally trust you, will dodge. Puppy squirmed but was controllable. ... show more

I was always told if it sounds to good to be true it probably is, I was skeptical at best reading all the other reviews. I have tried everything for my dogs ear infection. I've been to the vet more times than I can count in his life for these infections. I've tried the prescription stuff and it does work but takes usually a week or more to work and costs $60-100 depending. I've tried all kinds of over the counter stuff at the pet supply stores and even some home remedies. Again these will work but take a long time, cost money and it comes back anyways. I bought the Violet pet ear cleaner and I've applied it twice to the infection. What a miracle his ear is already better, no more discharge, no more funky smell, no more pain for him. And as a bonus it's very inexpensive and the 8 oz bottle should last a long time since it works so quickly. Also I no longer have to wrestle my dog and feel like a bad person cause I know his ear hurts (or used to). Thank you so much, I have already told so many of my friends about this. ... show more

    • The new formula
As much as I loved the old formula I hate the new formula now. It based on the alcohol now and has very strong alcohol smell and stings. All my five Sphynx cats that were very good about their ears cleaned are now traumatized by this new formula. This last cleaning they were acting like I am torturing them. It put me to tears. I have a standard poodle that I have been fighting ear infection with for YEARS! Taken him to the vet so many times! Clears up and comes back in no time!! I seen someone recommend this stuff so had to try it, as I have numerous other products. Followed the directions, and in just 5 days, his ear was finally not hurting, didn't stink and was clean!     • It WORKS, period.
I have Boykin Spaniels who love being wet and have those lovely long floppy ears. I have one dog, Lucy who has had horrible problems (yeast and bacteria) since she came from rescue. Tried everything even the expensive new gel plug you get from the vet. Nothing works, dog and I miserable. I was searching on here one day and I saw this product and the light went on, I had used a gentian violet based solution for my first Boykin's ears 20 years ago and had totally forgotten about it. Bought this and used it as directed for a week (make sure to massage in ear for 45 sec -1 minute and if you clean gunk out of the ear do it again immediately in the cleaned ear) then 1x week for the next month and now every 2 weeks or so for maintenance and Lucy 's ears are clear and she is so happy an bouncy - she is a changed dog and I am so happy. If you want to boost this a bit add a tiny bit more boric acid. This now has a permanent place in my canine wellness cabinet. Just make sure you apply in a safe location (linoleum or outside & use a big cloth - like an old rag t-shirt because this will stain if it drips on something (bleach will easily remove). I adopted a dog with chronic ear infections. I ordered three different, more expensive, products on Amazon that did not work before trying this one. After reading the reviews on this product, I thought for sure it was the miracle cure I was looking for. At at first I was disappointed as it was not working for me. Then the seller stepped in to help and she was amazing. We discovered his diet was the issue and cause of his ear problems. She sent me a sample of dehydrated raw dog food and he started to get better. I ended up ordering a big bag from Amazon. I then used this product again and low and behold it seems to be working! If his chronic issues do recurr she will be the first person I turn to for help. I can't put into words how the purchase of product changed our lives for the better. Worth every dime and then some. Recommend to anyone whose dog has chronic issues, seller is truly a godsend. ... show more
