I replaced the boring—newer and silent but frumpy, white wall clock of the same size—with this one. And it is a night-and-day change. I never thought of clocks being beautiful, but this one sure is. It truly is silent, even with the second hand—which I normally hate, not only because it’s usually noisy (but not noisy in this case, I repeat), but also because they are battery hogs. And I assume this is the one drawback to the clock—yummy on the batteries (two AAA). Time (pun intended) will tell. But I fear that part is true. But it’s the only drawback. I cannot really see that second hand not being the power hog that second hands always are. But the benefits make up for it. In fact, the silent, smooth motion, along with the glassy, artistic beauty, give the clock a certain elegance. I definitely recommend it. ... show more
