This is to fit scientific instruments of unusual dimensions. There are 5 latches and 4 layers of open cell foam to cut to customise whatever your are carrying. The case is not light but it should hold up to rough treatment. I have not tried to check it as luggage yet, but I'm assuming that due to its length, I'll be paying extra for it to fly. This thing comes with like 5 or 6 layers of foam. Its DEEP, THICK WALLED, and HEAVY. it comes with little roller wheels though. You could probably throw this off a cliff and have a small chance that it would survive. The latches are also great. Ivwas afraid the latches would be flimsy or loose, but they are satisfyingly secure! Love the button safety on the latches, and so many latches lol. Getting one sucks though. I had to cancel two orders because of long wait times. Myaterious DHL emails asking for money every time i ordered. I had to contact amazon to push/release the order the third time, and then it arrived promptly. Pain to get one, but worth it. The only way to get more protection is to belt it with steel bands, or get a steel safe, but steel safes arent as portable, making this thing your new best friend. Only hard case ive seen that fits an AEA Zeus with the stock attached. ... show more

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this case. It’s massive and I only have the one rifle built at this time. So I got a little over zealous on this purchase. Definitely going to be an airport only case if I’m flying to a training course or a competition on down the road with multiple firearms. First I would say I wish I’d have ordered a smaller Pelican. This was for one rifle, scope, and a few accessories. This case will fit two rifles and probably a couple handguns too. It is very heavy. Thank goodness for the handles and rollers. This case is excellent quality. Perfect fit, finish, and high quality latches. I had trouble cutting the foam. Got it done following a few videos but it does not look professional like I would prefer. If you want the foam to look made for your equipment plan on having the foam laser cut. ... show more

I have a ‘natural light’ kit that needs to travel with me on photo jobs including a photek 84” umbrella and 3 California sunbounces. I’m able to add a few Cardellini and a super clamp for a package that’s under 50 lbs for travel. This case is uniquely suited for this task.
