I have been looking for a sliding miter saw for some time. I looked at several "famous" models and there are surely lots of them. What I wanted was a 10in saw. My son has a huge DeWalt sliding miter saw and he regrets purchasing his monster for just occasional home use. Requires a power lifter to move this thing. This Dovman comes in at roughly 37.5 lb. Easy to move, even for me at 74 years old. Despite some comments about lots of plastic, I find this to be untrue. All-important surfaces and mechanisms are metal. It is a sturdy machine as far as I am concerned. Only handle. motor and blade cover, and a couple of other small covers are made of hard plastic. First 2 hours out of the box, I checked all the parameters and angles, which I found to be extremely accurate. I expected to adjust this and that and fine tune the saw. Even the laser guide was right on target. The saw cut was right down the middle of the laser line. I am used to measuring and placing my work piece so that the blade cuts touching to the right of my marking/laser guide. There are 9 positive stops, and they all come in perfect at the marked angle. I like the extended side tables on each side of the saw. They extend by about 4in each, making it a little easier to work with longer work pieces. I don't have any complaints about the work piece hold down. Works as advertised for me. The back fence has markings with numbers on it (10,15,20). I have no idea what these markings are good for because they do not match inches or centimeters.... but looks good. Oh, one more thing about the back fence. I wish it was movable, forward and backwards. The slide works flawlessly and without hesitation. I like that. The saw comes with 2 speeds, 5000RPM and 3200RPM. Nice to have but I will mostly use 5000 RPM for a cleaner cut, depending on the type of work piece. I am not sure why some complain about the motor noise or slow startup. I have not experienced a slow startup and the noise comes with the tool. Wear ear protection if you spend lots much time with the tool. There was nothing to assemble other than attaching one of the carrying handles. Two extra motor brushes are included. Standard sizes and easy to obtain and replace. I am a little confused about the warranty. On Amazon it lists a 2-year warranty. In the packed received a note talks about a 30-days money back guaranty. If you register the product the company will extend the warranty up to a total of 3 months and exchange the saw due to manufacturing defects. So, I don't know what that Amazon listed 2-year warranty entails. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The dust collection port is useless unless a vacuum is attached to the port, and not the flimsy little bag. But I don't see a problem with that. Most tools, inexpensive or expensive, that come with that little dust collection bag don't work well. ... show more

Saw came quickly and was boxed well. Cuts wood well with included blade and has a nice instruction book included. Overall a nice saw but does have a few plastic pieces,should last a lo g time for a home owner like me. The only complaint is the lens on the laser covered with resin from some pine I had cut and had to take off to clean. Hope that is not something to continue to had to do. ... show more

    • Cheap Saw! Not accurate, the bevel adjustment broke.
the Price was good and looked like it had allot of features that made it seem a great value for the money. Boy was I Wrong! The Very first thing I noticed is the saw takes FOREVER to spin up to speed, and when i release the trigger it takes awhile to spin down, there was no safety breaks at all. The next thing i noticed is the angles were way out of spec. IE 45 is like 43dg the 90 was at like 88dg. when i cut would its clear it is not accurate you can clearly see angled cuts on what was supposed to be a 90, not square at all. The next thing I noticed and was the ultimate reason I choose to return the item. when i tightened the Miter knob to hold it, the vibration of the saw its self caused it to move. Even with the Knob as tight as I can get it I can still move the bevel angle. It just doesn't lock. Other issues with the saw the laser was not accurate at all and it only lit up the very edge of board. so it basically made the laser useless. most the saw is plastic to top everything else off. I DO NOT RECOMEND IT, I'd rather spend just $25 more and get a Harbor freight BAUER Sliding miter or buy a WEN or a Skill Sliding 10in miter saw on amazon. you will probably get a much better tool for a few bucks more. ... show more

I'm changing my first review from 1 star to 4 stars. Originally, I couldn't square up the saw, and the instructions didn't tell me how to do it. The initial support from the manufacturer was not helpful. But they kept at it, and ultimately, they told me how to solve my problem. For the price, this is a good saw. Of course, this saw isn't as good as a saw two or four times its price. But unless you're a fine cabinet maker, this saw will get the job done. ... show more
