Features

  • Worm Castings Organic Fertilizer: Our worms are raised in worm beds that are decades old and work all layers of the compost, not just the top few inches, creating a wholly better compost. The worm casting mix is full of nutrients and aerated by the earthworm colony, providing the best possible growing base for plants.
  • Black Gold Worm Castings: Using live earthworm castings for gardening and plant growing purposes can benefit any garden or farm soil. The food scraps and waste the worms consume in the compost bin gets digested and transformed into some of the most nutritious earth material that lawns and gardens could grow in: worm castings!
  • Organic Worm Castings: The worm castings produced by our worms are 7 times richer in phosphates, 5 times richer in nitrogen, and 11 times richer in potash than average lawn soil. The ample supply of nutrients provided by each worm composter helps your garden to grow healthier plants and this valuable substance is all a result of your trash!
  • Composting Worms Help the Earth: By feeding food scraps to compost worms instead of throwing them away, we all help to recycle nutrients and keep less trash in landfills. Using worm castings also reduces the need for harmful earth-destroying chemicals, instead relying on safe, organic compost production.
  • Uncle Jim's Worm Farm: We've been in business for over 50 years, using over 40 acres of land, the largest worm farm in the US! We're a Down to Earth company and handle the whole process of growing and farming composting worms for the market from start to finish. All of our worms are proudly raised in the USA. Here at Uncle Jim's, we really know worms!

  • High quality worm castings
Great worm castings for the price. I will definitely be ordering again in the future if I ever need vermicompost, that’s thriving and full of life.

  • Dark, Rich, and wormy!
Fantastic stuff and had a few stragglers to add to the soil bin to continue breaking things down. Deep, dark, rich, living compost.

  • YES. It does smell like worm dirt!
Before buying, I read all of the negative reviews and I took the chance anyway. First off, I have purchased it twice, and I am ready to buy this additive again. Yes, people, it has an odor, and anyone who tells you that isn't a good thing - never raise worms and nightcrawlers or they would have known exactly what they were getting into. It smells like worm dirt, and I mean that in the best possible way. This is the real deal. The next item that Uncle Jim's is taking so much heat over is "Here thar be bugs". Now, most of the people with these negative reports also "claim" that they have composted and dealt with worm castings for years. Think it thru friends, how does a person do anything that deals with the items used for compost and worm dirt (with 15 to 20 tiny red wigglers alive on arrival) and not end up with a few unwanted buggy critters? So far out of only 2 bags I may have gotten 10-20 bugs of a flying sort total. Mind you, those aren't the little critters people are saying is infested in the soil. They are talking about very tiny white bugs that your bag will have in there also. They DO NOT eat the plants. They deal with unwanted bugs who do attack the plant, and they set the balance for the bacteria in the soil. If they are in the soil and doing their jobs well, you will see them stand to every time you water your plants. They are one of very few bugs that we WANT in our soil. TLDR: It is obvious to me that these folks have been doing this for a very long time, and they are doing it better than most others. ... show more

Won’t burn your plants. Wish it had a better packaging to keep it from drying out.

  • More than worm castings+++
I did not notice any worms upon receipt, however, after a week or so, I noticed very small worms. I was told by a neighbor to add some corn meal and a very mall amount of water if the worm castings were drying out. I did it, and now have worms approaching medium size. Great product, and will gladly purchase again. ... show more
