  • Works good with easy app setup
Style: N300, Outdoor
Its smaller than i expected about 1 1/2" wide by 16" including antenna. It will need two Ethernet cords, one from the internet service to the poe adapter (likely should be short only 2-3 feet mount near service provider box) and another from the adapter to the wifi access point antenna (could be 100s of feet away if needed). Where ever you mount it. Very Strong signal even over 200ft away. Im on a few acres and i will now have wifi access on the whole property. Unfortunately i got it to get wifi in my metal shop building that is 150ft away from house and the metal really hurts signal strength, inside the building only 1 bar .(cant fault that on this unit) as i can walk 100 ft behind shop and still have 2/3 bars.. Very easy app to setup, takes less than 5 min and you are up and running. How anyone can complain that they can't figure out such a simple app is beyond me... Over all im very happy with it and will likely have to install a pole somewhere closer to my shop and run weather proof Ethernet line to it there. ... show more

  • Centralized management FTW
Style: AX1800
This EAP610 replaced a much older TP Link Archer that my child told me had connectivity problems. I put the Omada controller on my server and instantly enjoyed the centralized interface. I plan to replace my other routers with Omada based versions in the future so I can set them all up the same. The other benefit is that the controller software would show me the current status of the router from wherever I was. This ended up helping me realize that there was something else going on. The router would come online for a while, then drop, then come online again and the statistics graphs let me see what was happening. That caused me to start digging and I found out that the keystone on the wall in the room where it was plugged in actually had a slightly loose wire, which ended up being the cause of the connectivity problems all along. ... show more

  • Works perfect in my detached garage
Style: AX1800
I wanted internet access in my detached garage that's ~75 feet from my house so I can have things like security cameras and Wi-Fi operated garage door openers. I buried cat6 cable and connected it in the garage to the EAP610 mounted on the ceiling. Wi-Fi signal is strong and fast. Running an Xfinity Gig speed 1 gb/s plan, I'm seeing over 700 Mb/s in my garage and I have strong Wi-Fi coverage in most of my backyard now. Very happy with this access point for the price. ... show more

  • Amazing signal strength
Style: AC1750
This review is for the EAP 245 in a commercial environment. I initially started with a Google nest mesh system for a small business system. However a single 245 point blew out three mesh points from Google. Combine with a Gigabit POE switch and OC200 controller and r605, rock solid setup.

  • Easy setup, great technical support
Style: AC1750
While this is a business product, I use two of these for my home network. I love that I can access each one via the Omada app, which allows me to reboot each individually if needed. You can also control the LED light (on/off) on the device (I turn one of them off because it is located in my home theater). And you can view how many and which devices are connecting to each EAP. When I had a problem with one of the devices (cause unknown), Xandrex at TP-Link customer support was able to walk me through troubleshooting and get me back up and running. ... show more

  • EAP610 - I think I got a dud? Not Impressed..
Style: AX1800
After having used an all in one modem/router/access point from an ISP and seeing 600Mbps out the gate on its WiFi6 radio I figured this AP should have a decent shot since it advertises speeds of 1500+ Mbps. I have decent networking knowledge I would claim.. I can say with confidence that I know the difference between Mbps and MBps.. I pay for 1Gb symmetric fiber, the wired connection gets a solid 900/900Mbps consistently. I've owned this AP for about a week - The bad / odd stuff with this AP: - There are no NIC lights on the LAN port of the AP, that seems really dumb, TP-Link. If I were installing these with really long ethernet cable runs this feels like a deal breaker. It would suck to walk back and forth to check your switches to see if it has connectivty. - This has weak range, it seems to be meant for a mesh set up, I wish TP-Link would just say that. There's nothing that I can find that describes what the expected Range should be with 5G using Wifi6. I get a really weak Wifi6 signal 30ft away. Update: - After upgrading the AP to FW 1.0.4 with the CloudController and attempting to disable Wifi6 on it, the AP won't connect to the controller any more :(. I can't get AP to reliably push over 150Mbps on my iPhone 13 or Windows desktop. Both have 802.11ac adapters, with my desktop having an AX adapter. My signal strength is also 'meh'. I thought I was missing something huge and obvious but something seems off. I've tried the AP in the standalone mode and with the Cloud Controller. I've disabled the 2.4G radio, used the least saturated channels, flipped between WPA3 and WPA2 with AES. Tried Wifi6 and 5, tried 802.11ac only. Looking at the Cloud controller the AP is reporting a 12% Tx Error rate which is concerning. I have the AP hard wired to the modem's switch port and it shows a clean 1Gb LAN connection. I've tried disabling all other 5G radios around it and I've even pointed the AP towards my desktop but it still feels like it's performing poorly. I reached out to TP-Link support but told me to follow up on Monday because this is apparently a business product that doesn't get support on the weekends >_> *sigh* ... show more
