    • Excellent system, but with one glitch.
This is a really good system with many features making it an excellent choice for home use. The software isn't proprietary to Xmarto, several other manufacturers use it in their NVR's as well. It's fairly easy to navigate through and set all operating parameters to your specific needs. You do need to be somewhat computer savvy though, it's a window based system. Video clarity and color is exceptional (depending on what your using for viewing) I use a 12" HDMI monitor which works well and doesn't take up much desk space. The infrared night optics are exceptional as well. The cameras are "PIR" units (passive infra red) so there's no false triggers to annoy you. All four cameras can be configured differently for each hour, of each day of the week, for different alert types, all independent of each other. There is an alert feature built into the NVR to alert you when a zone is triggered (excellent for overnight hours when your asleep) as well as being able to send an e-mail and / or an alert to the phone app. You can configure the NVR to utilize all of these alerts or just the one's you prefer. Video playback is easily accessed and accomplished. The app itself is easy to set up and use. You can view a live feed or play back previously recorded video. The system also has the capability of two way audio, but only through the app, not through the NVR. Now for the "glitch". I get a recurring alert every morning (after the system disarms), a little red triangle that when "clicked" on opens a window stating "error message", which says "IP conflict, use different channel". It reoccurres three times and stops. I have contacted their support dept several times and they have made suggestions, but the three alerts continue every morning. After my last communication with their support dept they responded with "as long as the system is working okay, don't worry about it. We get the same type of error messages on our office computers". REALLY??? I think they gave up. It would seem that no one in their support dept understands the software, or they don't have a support dept, just someone responding to e-mails. Anyway, I decided to keep the system because the "error messages" do not affect how the system operates or performs. There is a way to disable that annoying little red triangle from popping up every morning three times with that "error message". The not so good part is that the red triangle is also used as an alert for system triggers. So I just configured the system to alert my phone when a zone is triggered and I can either use the phone to view it or go to the NVR and view it there. Not having that triangle really isn't an inconvenience. Other than that software glitch, (which doesn't affect system operations) this is a real nice system that does what it's supposed to do. ... show more

I deal with a lot of camera recording systems through my job and have not experienced a system so easy to set up and use. I installed this system for my house to have 24/7 recording around the property and the image quality is very nice. It’s easy to make out makes/models of cars and license plates. Any small amount of light at night activates the color night vision. I haven’t connected my wifi router to it yet, but plan on using the app for when I’m away. The app appears user friendly as well. Playback is super easy to use. Just select the camera you want to view or multiple and select your time and date you want to start reviewing. And with 2T’s it will record for weeks. Each camera came with 100 ft of CAT5e cable which was more than enough for my house which is about 2,000 sq ft. The NVR was literally plug and play. Just tweek your cameras in the setup portion and you’re ready to go. You are able to make 1 camera your whole screen or make all 16 in small boxes on your screen at once. Since I only have 4 so far, the whole screen is 4 cameras. The black aluminum housing on the cameras and the overall quality of the physical setup feels high quality. Doesn’t feel like it’s going to break or isn’t cheaply made. Just plug in the CAT5e cable to the camera and run it through the attic, down the wall to your NVR. The hardest part was navigating through my attic. Make sure to wear long sleeves and a common household breathing mask while up there if you are a do-it-yourselfer.     • Coming from someone with low patience level for technology, this setup was a breeze!
Bought this system after watching the "how-to" setup video (posted just below product pics) that is available to watch when looking at the product on Amazon website. Seemed easy enough and the guy who did the video was step-by-step on his game. Product arrived intact and well boxed. 4 cameras all ready to be hung up. Found an old 16" monitor laying around the house, went out and bought a HDMI cord and followed the video instructions without much hitch at all. Hooking the unit up was a breeze. Cord that attaches the NVR unit to my router/modem could be longer (only because now I have to keep the monitor and the NVR machine directly next to my home office desktop.) Turned everything on and plugged in the cameras - instant viewing. We put the cameras up on 4 corners of the house to view the exterior. Helpful hint wound have been what I suppose is obvious to some folks - the higher the camera, the broader the footage view. Syncing to my phone seemed daunting and I put it off for a day, but I finally dove in, watched the video again off the Amazon product site and sure enough, it was done in less than 5 minutes. Had to sync the phone with the scan method (don't use the scan mark provided in the pamphlet that comes with the NVR, you have to scan the mark that popped up on the NVR screen at one of the prompts provided in the video. All in all, it was easier than I thought and I tend to give up on this kind of higher level computer stuff but it was worth it. Now I can do it all from my phone and even mess with my animals when I use the speaker to talk to them from my phone when they're visible in the camera! Definitely recommend this to anyone who thinks that home installation is too hard to do. High quality cameras and visuals, infrared at night is awesome and installation was easy.     • Had some issues with the wallpixel app.
The wallpixel app was sending the pictures from the alarm but no notifications. Customer support helped me resolve the issue. Took a couple of days to figure it out. Up and running now. Thanks
