  • Great sandal for the price (certainly compared to the competition on Amazon)
I buy a number of the same type of item to compare shop on Amazon and when it came to finding a Birkenstock like sandal for the house, I was really disappointed with the quality, before finding these. These are clean, well made and attractive. They fit well (as you would expect) and appear to be made from quality materials. The upper outer is suede and it looks like it. There is fabric underneath but it's well done, comfortable and makes the entire upper portion similar in weight and visually like a real Birk. The footbed is again leather, quite soft and sits cleanly on the cork base. Highly recommended! Well done maker! ... show more

  • Initial experience is great!
I've put two days on these, and the fit and wear is great. This is how I use them: I bike to work, which can leave your feet damp or wet, depending. About 8 years ago I realized that keeping a couple of pairs of Birkenstock's in my desk drawer and wearing them around the plant kept my feet dry and breathable, plus I could kick them off under my desk when I wanted. So, I went to wearing Birks at the office full time. The office portion of my workplace is about the size of a football field and two floors, so I do a reasonable bit of walking. The reason I chose these is that my select style of Birks is now $135 on REI. You can get them closer to $100, but that's still too much for what you're buying. I've been repairing my Birks for years. Birks are not indestructible. The heels wear and the cork cracks. I band saw off the heel of the sole and replace it with Birk-like sole material. I maintain the cork with sealer and re-glue with Barge cement. In short, I'm pretty familiar with the construction and wear-ability of cork based sandals. My initial assessment of the TF Star version of a "cork sandal" is that they're extremely similar to the Birkenstock's. The upper is man-made, but so is one pair of my Birkenstock's. The flexibility, out of the box, is similar to new Birkenstock's. My Birkenstock's are a 41M and the TF Star are 8's (USA). While that matches on the size chart, the 8's are a tad shorter (say 3/16 of an inch) than the 41 at the big toe and the same at the small toe. I don't know if this is a difference between manufacturers or difference in the actual measurement of the 41 vs. 8(usa). The feel of the TF Star was great. I've worn these around the plant for two work days so far, and I'm loving them. I have a reasonably high arch and I thought the foot support was great. I don't want to say they feel better than the Birk's just out of the box.... but maybe.... I haven't had new Birk's in a few years. Longevity: Obviously, with just 2 days on them, I can't tell yet. Between my pairs at work, these will probably get 2 days a week as I phase out the pair these were meant to replace (3 strap Birks with man-made upper that's just about torn through). If these disappoint me for some reason, I'll definitely be back to this review to comment. ... show more

  • After 2 months, compares favorably to Birkenstocks
I bought these and a pair of Fitory Birk knockoffs. These were superior to the Fitory. The buckles are double riveted vs single with cheaper sandals. I have more faith they will survive time. The soles may be just EVA but have worn well, far better than the Fitory, but a little softer than the Birks. Over time you will need to take a knife and add heel savers or resole completely with superior soles. The build quality is above what I was expecting for these, and will be worth repairing as they age. The corkbeds have held well over the abuse I put them thru. I cannot confirm the cork sole is solid or a foam fill with cork veneer, but it has passed my break in test and remains comfortable. The uppers are suede, but the underside of the upper that touches the tops of your feet are some kind of soft synthetic. Comfortable, but I'm disappointed yet not surprised, as suede doesn't have the strength that top grain leather does. Overall, this is a strong replacement for Birks, not quite as good, but you will be happy. Overall it comes up short on the soles and the upper. All else they hold their own. ... show more

  • Quality sandals for a decent price
Size: 10 Color: Coffee
Threes sandals for great and feel very solid. I have owned the overpriced birkenstocks in the past and these feel just as good. I have also owned a few cheapo store brand sandals, and these are much better quality than those. I have been wearing this style of sandal since the 00s and I am very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Amazing comfort, amazing arch support
Size: 10 Color: Coffee
I have to be honest I was skeptical. I purchased far too many pairs of sandals on Amazon that didn’t work out. These sandals have amazing arch support. They’re very very comfortable and I’ve had them about two weeks and zero blisters. Such great value for the money so much so that I bought a second pair in a different color. They are true to fit. I take a size 10 And I ordered a size 10 and they fit perfectly. They are very soft to the touch and very firm to wear. Very very nice looking sandal. ... show more

  • Mostly very good but 2 issues
Size: 9 Color: Coffee
Update Now that they are worn and needing replacement after about a year I can see why they are softer than the B brand. These are not cork. There is a cork exterior but the actual material is a softer and heavier material. I might buy this brand again for around the house but will likely try another. I initially rated it 5 stars. I reduced a star because it says it's cork but it is not. Lowered it another star because twice I bruised my foot when the sandal slipped off and I stepped on the edge. That is due to the hard wood like outside that looks like cork. The pricey ones do not have either issue. They should make these without the hard outside even if it just looks like rubber. That would avoid both issues. Original review It looks the same but doesn't feel the same as the B brand. That said, it doesn't feel bad. It's softer and more lumpy, not sure if lumpy is the right word. I can get about 4 of these for the same price as one of the other. If this does not last a year I'll lower the review. I do not wear these to the pool, beach, it too wash my car. I assume the water would ruin them. ... show more

My son was not happy they were not Birkenstocks, but he loved them. He said they are comfortable and had worn them for almost a yr. They are well worn, but are still holding up. He asked me to get another pair of these sandals and not for the Birkenstocks.
