  • Owner and Feline Approved!!
Size: 6 Doses
I've tried multiple topical flea treatment brands. Many didn't work as long as claimed; some didn't work well at all. The odor of one brand was so volatile that I couldn't get near my cats with it once I opened the container; in fact, one cat became aggressive toward me for even trying! This prooduct, FIRSTACTplus, has a faint, pleasant fragrance. Did not cause hair loss or skin irritation at the administration site. And it did not trigger salivation, staggering, hiding, or malaise in my cats. I have nothing to complain about with this product. It works, and I don't have to chase or wrestle with my cats in order to apply it. This is the only over-the-counter formula I've found that actually does what the maker says it does. I absolutely recommend this product. ... show more

  • Works as expected for about half the price.
Size: 3 Doses
Leo was picking up tics outdoors, and we found First Act plus while searching for a solution. The price was great, and no tics since we started the treatments. My only complaint would be the applicator, as you have to cut the tip off to apply it. I found a small pair of scissors I keep in the box, otherwise I suggest you clean whatever pair you use each time. ... show more

  • Useless, no effect on fleas!!!
Size: 3 Doses
Useless product! My cat typically gets monthly Frontline Plus which has worked great at controlling fleas, I thought I'd save a few bucks and try a generic with the same ingredients. This product claims to have same active ingredients, in the same quantity, yet it does NOTHING!!! I even treated my cat with oral Capstar first, which killed all the fleas he had, and applied this product to prevent re-infestation at sametime, within 3 days he was covered in the worst fleas he's ever had and so is my house! I tried a second dose about 2 weeks after initial to see if there was any change and again nothing and again I was giving Capstar almost daily so he wasn't infested at this point, as soon as I stopped Capstar, relying on this stuff for protection, the fleas returned full force. I've now spent hundreds bug bombing my entire house and spraying my yard and treating my cat including taking him to the vet and having him professionally groomed for flea removal and paying for my roommate's cats to be treated as well because my cat brought the fleas in and contaminated everyone and everything!!! There's no way this is the same as Frontline Plus and I don't believe the ingredients are the same! I'm livid and of course can't return this junk, I'd never buy this again and it's unlikely I'll try any of this company's other products! No wonder there's no returns for this item, I'm sure the company would be inundated with unhappy customers if there was. I'm so frustrated and disappointed with this ordeal and believe that the company is misrepresenting the ingredients claiming they are the same as brand name Frontline Plus, there's no logical reason for this product, that is supposed to contain the exact same chemicals in the same quantities as the brand name product, to not have a comparable effect, yet here I am covered in flea bites, my house and yard now covered in chemicals from the bombing, a $280 vet bill for my cat and my roommates 2 cats to get a new prescription flea treatment and get de-wormed for tapeworms as well, my son can't play in his yard because he was getting bit and now after spraying it I'm scared he'll get sick from the residual chemicals. Arrrgh! I'm about ready to sue this company for the money I've lost, the stress and physical discomfort the humans, cats, and even dog are dealing with because of this crappy product, I'm definitely filing a complaint with Amazon, BBB, and any other relevant consumer protection companies. Arrghh!!!! So much for saving a few bucks, instead it's costing me hundreds of $ and my sanity! ... show more

  • Works great no fleas or ticks at all

  • On the fence
Size: 3 Doses
I applied this to my two young cats yesterday and haven't been able to find anymore fleas on them so far (fingers crossed). They didn't have the worst infestation I've seen, but it was definitely starting to get bad. One has very dense fur that the bugs just loved (I don't blame them, it's super soft). Bathing them didn't do much, combing was a temporary fix (and tricky on the one with dense fur), and the last product I used was ineffective and had a horrible odor that made my cats very anxious and irritable. It was hard for me to be around the smell too, so I can't imagine how awful it was for them. I was really happy that there was basically no odor to this product. The application tube isn't the best--you have to snip the end off of each tube and it's a bit awkward with the packaging around it. I have a routine for my cats that I also do for shots that worked for this as well. I set them on the counter and give them their favorite food to enjoy while I put the treatment on. I had to hold them each briefly with one arm due to the initial shock of feeling something on them, but both got over it very quickly. No acting erratic or scared afterwards. They tried to get at it for a few minutes, so just be mindful of where you put it. Happy so far and I'm hopeful that we'll be done with fleas in a few months! UPDATE: I've been following the pamphlet about dealing with infestation and applying once a week for 4 weeks. Today will be the final application before i switch to monthly maintenance either with this product or another. The fleas seemed to disappear for a few days after the initial dose and then I noticed a lot more--probably all the eggs hatching. For the most part I vacuum and comb every day with a few exceptions when I work late. After the 3rd application I began seeing dead fleas on their fur and fleas jumping off of them and acting strangley, which means the product was working. Within a few days I found some time to comb the cats for several hours and I pulled off at least 200 fleas. I should've taken a picture. This was extremely disappointing considering all my efforts as well as putting this product on them. The majority weren't even small ones, they were adults. I've made a conscious effort to be even more proactive and go into "crazy cleaning mode" to get rid of this issue. Today while combing I noticed fewer fleas, majority small, and a good portion that I pulled off were already dead. I'm really on the fence about the effectiveness of this product. I've seen it work, and it might be fine for maintenance once an infestation is taken care of, but I think a bad case of fleas will always require a lot of dirty work on behalf of the pet owner. I don't think that means the product is necessarily bad, but I don't think you'd be able to get away with using this as a cure all and not get your hands dirty. My cats still have not had any adverse reactions. I've read a few reviews about cats getting sick or dying, and we need to remember that this is still a poison. You can't feed it to your pets or let them lick it off. Will update after the final dose to see if this product can help clear an infestation within a month. That would be really impressive! ... show more
