Needless to say, my lab time and lab experience are about as minimal as it can be for a 2nd-3rd year college student; maybe I should add, student in non-medical classes and such. That being said, this equipment is no different than what I've seen, used, experienced to date so I'm confident it is equivocal. I've been setting up a small, at-home 'lab space' of sorts, mainly to augment my level 300-400 classes that I'm up to now, and I expect to be doing lab-work in at least a few of them. I got these to use in the hobby of ant keeping. Young queens are kept in test tubes to start their colony, if you didn’t know. These are perfect for that. I’m also a bit of a scientist and these would be pretty limited in use in a lab, particularly as they are plastic. The caps they all came with do seal better than I thought they would, though I won’t call it totally water tight. I wouldn’t keep any liquids in there except water, and I’d try to keep them upright as much as possible. The tubes did arrive with small scratches on the outside, a result of them tumbling against each other. They aren’t very scratched and certainly not enough to matter. There are a lot of things you can do with these things though, for things like camping, travel, and crafts. I’m sure many kids would enjoy practicing their budding science skills with them as well. ... show more

    • Nice Plastic Test Tubes With Many Uses
These are lab-quality plastic test tubes with well-fitting caps. They are plastic, so they are not as durable or reusable as glass test tubes, but the cost is low enough that they can be discarded instead of reused. They also do not work for experiments or projects where open flame or hot plate heat sources are used since they melt. These are great for storing seed beads and other small craft and hobby items and for storing small things in a backpack or camping pack. The product description is accurate. I am pleased with these little tubes. I wish they were a little larger but the plastic is pretty sturdy. It is thin but will last fine unless you are rough on them. The red stopper fits snug but is still very easy to pull in and out of the tubes. It would be nice if they came with a holder for the tubes I suppose. I don't need one myself. I plan to use them for crafts actually and these are ideal since the glass ones are so breakable. I tend to wish things like this had a lip on the top to hold them in a circular slot. These don't, they are same size the entire tube. This is a simple item but good number for price and make pretty well, I think. ... show more

I got these to use as geocaching containers; they are a smaller, lighter version than the soda preforms folks often use. I could see these being useful for containing beads or other small crafting items as well. The tube portion is 4” long, with the lid coming up an additional 3/8”. Note that the lid is hollow on top (see photo) and that it is a push in lid, not a screw top. The tube is about 1/2” across. These are a hard plastic of medium thickness (tube) and a softer red plastic lid. I was worried that they might not be watertight so I immersed one and it held up fine; the inside was totally dry. I am going to put some of these out as geocaches and will report back if they fail too quickly in the field. That said, this is a 50 pack, which means if they end up being less durable or they get lost or removed, it is no big deal to replace them given how many I have! ... show more

    • Good Quality for a Great Price
I got the 50pc Teenitor Clear Plastic Test Tubes with Caps (16×100mm) to use for an upcoming art project and to store small, plastic half-beads. The tubes are a hard, brittle plastic, but they should hold up very well for the purpose I got them for since that is exactly what I wanted. The clarity is also very good. There is some visual distortion of the contents, but that is to be expected with small tubes like these. I wouldn't put anything solvent-based or hot in them, but that should be common sense with a hard plastic test tube. The soft plastic stoppers stay in well on the ones I tested, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to risk using them for liquid. Fortunately, I have no intention of using them for liquids, so these should work just fine for me. Fifty tubes with lids for $9.99 (at time of order) is a really good deal, in my opinion. Great for anyone into crafts and model making, or anyone who just needs to store very small beads or parts. Recommended :) ... show more

Not what I thought. These are plastic and when I put fragrance oils in them, they began to disintegrate or melt. They also crack really easily when you put the lid on them. Won’t be buying again.
