This is my second box of these bags. I use them as trash can liners, as covers for things I want to keep clean in storage (e.g. Christmas garland), and to haul yard debris. The bags almost never tear--you have to really punish them to make that happen. They're thick and can hold an incredible load. When I use them for storage, anything I put in them is well-protected. I compared these bags with some I had from a previous purchase. These bags are slightly thinner than the originals. However they are still extremely heavy duty. I never pick these bags up, I just drag them to the garbage pickup area. And I never had a problem. I never used them with construction debris but I feel they will work.     • I've been buying these for several years, because you don't find in the grocery.
I have a large trash can with flip-top lid and at the end of the week like to combine smaller cans into it and tie off one large bag. Even as a single person I find the larger bags more useful than smaller ones. I don't understand why families can only find the medium sized and smaller bags at most grocery stores. They used to carry them, growing up we used these 55-gallon bags to line larger trash cans. Back in the day when you could bag leaves in plastic instead of paper, they were useful in the fall leaf season as well. I just put a box of these near the big trash can and grab a bag to line the can whenever it needs emptied. They also make a cheap raincoat if you don't have an umbrella handy. Strong, as long as you don't fill with sharp objects, they hold up pretty well to weight. Again, if you avoid the sharp objects, they don't leak so I rarely have to hose out the trash/garbage can.
