I bought these because we had an especially hard rain and the bugs were BAD in IA! I don't want to kill the adult mosquitos or other important pollinators or bird/bat food, but I don't want me or my dog to be itchy or sick either. These are actually kind of miraculous. I looked into my container pond to see TONS of larvae and no critters. A day after dropping just a part of one of these in, there were no larvae. It's been a month since I set up my pond and I haven't needed to add even half of one of these dunks. They break pretty easily, too. And, look, you can see some snails have moved in! I've got some (frog? dragonfly?) eggs happening as well! TLDR: No more larvae, fewer yard mosquitos (those bad boys travel and I can't go around dumping or dunking everyone's standing water), and no toxic chemicals for me or my critter pals. ... show more

I’ve been using them in my backyard and they’ve made a noticeable difference. The mosquitoes have significantly decreased, which means we can enjoy being outside without constantly swatting them away. What I love most about Mosquito Dunks is how easy they are to use. Just drop them in standing water, and they start working almost immediately. They’re also safe for pets, wildlife, and plants, which gives me peace of mind. The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they need to be replaced every 30 days to maintain their effectiveness, which can add up over time. Additionally, they might take a few days to fully kick in, so patience is key. Overall, Mosquito Dunks are a reliable and environmentally friendly way to keep mosquitoes under control. Works great and fast in bird baths and fountains around our yard, mosquito larvae were there, now they're gone. Noticeable reduction in mosquitoes as a result.

    • Perfect for fungus gnats
For several years I tried everything to prevent and subsequently eliminate fungus gnats from my houseplants…peroxide, pumice stone topping, nematodes (x4), neem oil, letting the soil dry to the point where the plants wilted…you name it, I tried it and nothing worked. I even went so far as to get rid of all my plants at one point and started fresh, and “quarantined” them for a month before bringing them inside. It seemed like they always returned and got worse! I learned about these disks online and when paired with covering the soil with a layer of sand, the gnats were significantly reduced within a couple of weeks (to where I wasn’t seeing any flying around) and completely gone within a couple of months. I will never use anything else. All you have to do is crumble 1/4 of a disk into a regular sized watering can, let it sit in the water overnight, and then water as usual. All my plants are on different watering schedules (I use an app to keep track!) so I have a dedicated watering can with just this type of solution sitting in it ready to go. If you’ve tried all the other “remedies” and nothing seems to ever work for you, this is your last stop! ... show more

I put them out like the directions said and then it seem like I had 5 Five times the mosquitoes….. It was crazy I thought this stuff supposed to get rid of mosquitoes for 6 months. This product does not work. Waste of money.
