Had an old pair of bookshelf speakers kicking around wanted to find the cheapest amp around with bluetooth etc that worked. This works well, speakers sound good and the bluetooth connection is super easy. very happy!

  • WOW!
I bought this to replace the PYLE I bought about 2 months ago and I should have returned. Great treble/bass, great remote, bluetooth easy to pair with my tv, can use USB and SD, very light weight and size makes it easy to stick anyplace. It's handling my 4 Bose speakers beautifully. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, what else can I say? ... show more

  • For the Price, Surprisingly GOOD
Needed some inexpensive receiver for some audio once in a while outside the house. I've bought a lot of cheap junk in the past so there was some trepidation about getting this thing, but for the price it actually is pretty good and exceeded my expectations. Most people should like this product unless you're an enthusiastic audiophile. What's really good for me is it has an SD card as well as USB port to just play some music, plus of course bluetooth. It replaces a cheap stereo I used with a built in CD player, but with just 10 watts per channel it just wasn't enough. OK, to the nuts & bolts: PROS Good, clean sound at low to moderate volume Nice clip-type speaker ports Amazing size factor RMS 40 watts per channel is pretty decent Takes 4 ohm speakers too SD card/USB port CONS No balance control No headphone jack No AM No tuning dial FM antenna is a joke Inadequate manual Always starts in Line mode Amp makes some noise As said, it puts out some decent sound at low to medium volume. It has simple clips in the back for the speaker wires - just open, insert, and that's it. No idiotic screw ports which are a big PITA. It's size & weight are really astonishing - easy to fit nearly anywhere, plus you can run it off of AC or DC, and since it can handle 4 ohm speakers too (like car stereo speakers), it can work great for a tailgate or beach party. Wasn't interested in the mic inputs or karaoke, so didn't try it out. There are a few shortcomings or quibbles. While it does have treble and bass control, it has none for balance. There is no headphone jack, nor any AM, though that may not matter to some people. There is no way to easily dial in any FM station - it all operates on memory functions, so if you go to some other distant place, expect to have to program it all over again. The manual never explains this nor how to save stations. The antenna you get is near useless, but you can get a cheap 75 ohm antenna online. In fact the manual says very little at all about anything. And while a minor thing, the receiver always starts up in Line mode, not what you used last. The amp also makes some noise, sort of like crinkling paper - from the unit, not through the speakers. It's noticeable at low volumes but not really at anything higher. It has one RCA input in the back, but this thing really isn't made to be a primary home stereo. For a garage, small bedroom, or college dorm, this might be just what you're looking for. So will this rival a Sony or Pioneer receiver costing five times more? Of course NOT. But for its price and what it is, it's actually quite remarkable. If you want more power, there's also the AK55 unit as well. You can easily just put in an SD card or flashdrive with your favorite tunes, and play it away - that's something the entry level Japanese receivers don't even offer. ... show more

  • Stunning quality for $30
Hooked up with no problems. Everything worked .. bluetooth too. But for the finicky: the FM reception isn't good enough, so buy an $8 antenna. Also it's true there is no L/R balance control. Weird, but how often do you really need it?

  • Powerful little amp
A Nice little powerful amp. Works well for what I need as an amp for my edit suite. Not too big and not overly loud, but definitely loid enough to work on fine audio. the tuner is pretty decent without even adding an antenna.

  • Great product for the price...
I bought it to replace an existing stereo amp. The sound quality is great. The price is awesome. But 2 things made me take a star. However, these issues may cause a much lower rating if it was in use in different settings. The 3-star rating is only for my current situation. First, the Bluetooth range is quite short. The unit wouldn't connect well at first. So I moved the Bluetooth adapter to the computer that was closer to the unit. This time, it connected fine. But the sound would stutter. So I moved the card to the computer that was closest to the unit. The Bluetooth connected easily and the sound quality was great without any stutter. In fact, it was better than when I used the previous amp. However, the old unit used to be able to connect to the computer that was farthest away without any issues. Perhaps the Bluetooth antenna makes the difference. The old unit had a Bluetooth antenna whereas this unit didn't. The closest unit is about 15 ft away. 2nd closest unit is about 25 ft away. The farthest one is about 35 ft away. There isn't any obstruction between the computers and the unit. Perhaps this unit's Bluetooth isn't 5.0. The old unit (Bluetooth version 2.0) was able to connect to the same adapter when it was plugged into the farthest unit. I'm keeping it in spite of the problem because it's functioning fine and for $35, it's good enough. The second problem is remote control. No, battery isn't the problem. The power button works fine. But the volume control doesn't work at all and the mode button works intermittently. Again, this isn't a problem for me because I'm using this unit to play music all day in a retail business setting. So I don't need to manipulate volume or change modes. I just turn it on in the morning and turn it off at night. So I'm keeping it as is. However, this would pose a big problem in a lot of different settings. So beware. I'd have returned the unit if I were to use it for personal use. The 3-star rating was given for my current situation. ... show more

  • If you have a pair of speakers sitting around - buy this!!!!
Wasn’t sure what to expect for $35 bucks. Had an old Philips mini system that died but which came with decent speakers. Bought this receiver figuring if it was terrible I could easily return. Speakers hooked up easily. It’s pretty simple, not a lot to it but sound is great. Blue tooth connects easily to my Spotify. I used the old FM antenna from the Philips system and Radio single comes in clear. One day in but very satisfied thus far. ... show more

  • Good and bad
Good- price, easy to hook up, Bluetooth, fairly decent sound. Not so good- no easy FM tuning, it has a search but it’s difficult. Poor antennae.
