I disliked the way transit people treat merchandise....it was evident the compressor was upside down in box at sometime, oil all inside box and wrapping plastic....but the manufacturer gives you a bottle for fill up, compressor is perfect for what I need ..

    • Metal handles replace old plastic one.
I am writing this prematurely, because I have not used my compressor yet. I just got out of the box and put the wheels on. Having read the reviews on here I wasn’t sure what to expect. It seems the company listened to the complaints because a cheap plastic candle, as someone described, no longer exists on this unit. it is a good solid 90° metal bar with a plastic handle grip. Came adequately packed with a bottle of oil. No shipping damage, no leaks. Newer unit has metal handle as others have noted, no doubt an upgrade over the older plastic handle. Time will tell how long it holds up.

    • Great for HVLP Spray guns
If you're looking to use a HVLP gun that it is no higher than 8.5 cfm, this will certainly do the job. I paint electric guitars and this is probably the perfect size for that. It seems to keep up with my Sherpa Finex 1000 without any problem, that gun requires 7 cfm and in theory I could be pressing that trigger all day long and the compressor will keep up fine. The handle is plastic and it may not take a beating, if you're a contractor and you just need it for nail guns, there are tons of options out there, I think this compressor is meant for people who want an HVLP for smaller projects such as furniture, motorcycles or musical instruments. Unfortunately most manufacturers have dropped the CFMs of smaller compressor making this one one of the few available that will keep up with higher CFM demands at low PSI. I broke it in running it for 30 minutes with all the valves open, drained the oil that came in it and got some better quality synthetic oil from the Home Depot, it has been running flawlessly so far. I did not use the oil that came with it, there was some oil in the packaging, other than that mine came in one piece, the shipping box part that protects the plastic handle could be better, the handle could be much better but for the price I am not complaining, this thing has plenty of power. ... show more

My 10 year old 30 gallon compressor finally gave up the ghost so I started shopping for a replacement and found this one. It is much smaller, but the size meets my present needs and I did not want to spend a thousand bucks. I read the reviews and found most that were negative had to do shipping damage, so decided to give it a try. It was delivered in perfect condition and the oil bottle was not leaking. It is much quite than I am use to, pumped up nicely and no air leaks. Time will tell but so for so good. I am very pleased with the compresser. ... show more

    • Shipping and overall quality
Several issues with the compressor. It seemed that any possible connector leaked air! It was hissing like a snake! The "cut in" was factory set at approx 85lbs and the "cut out" was at approx 120. (That was per the inexpensive gauges on the compressor regulator.) The manual relief blew at 122lbs??? Very frustrating. The nail gun I was using don't like air below 90lbs. Nails would not drive to desired depth. I ordered a new manual relief and fixing the 1/2 dozen air leaks. Also there is a big sticker on it that says to add oil before operating??? It came with a bottle of oil to put into it however it was already full of oil!!! It had spilled out in the box. Very messy. All in All It is working good now but I should not had to make the repairs I had to make for a brand new item?? I assume not everyone has the ability to make these types of repairs? In hind sight I would have not purchased it...…There are so many options that are less expensive and better quality. Look at the Craftsman pancake air compressor if you are reading this. It is the best rated. Decimal level is only other concern for indoor use. Nose on this one is acceptable. ... show more

works so far(8months or so). Kind of loud , but they all are to some point. The plastic handle broke rather quickly , but so far that's the only problem. Would go a long way to make that handle outta' some cheap metal , just sayin'.

It arrived with the crack on the plastic, but should not affect performance. Although the packaging was adequate, it was not enough to keep the compressor totally protected. One of the discharge quick couplers leaked when connected to an air line. Its nice to have two available. One is regulated and the other is not. Can't say if leaky coupler was from shipping or just bad from factory. Drain valve is inadequate. I prefer them with T-handles or ears. Greatest thing about this compressor is how quiet it is compared to others. Its not Cali Cool quiet, but definitely lower than most. Fills up quickly, less than two minutes, and is fully adjustable to handle a bit more pressure; only after replacing safety valve with one that handles more pressure. Which brings me to the fact that the factory shipped safety valve is 8bar (116psi) even though the unit is advertised as 125psi working pressure and the switch's cut-out was 110psi. Replacing safety valve with a 145psi valve and cranking up the cut-out pressure at the switch, I was able to get consistent 125 - 127psi working pressure. I don't and will not use this unit for painting, it is mostly for gun use; nail gun, staple gun, brad gun. I did use it to sand blast some metal parts @ 60psi and it did very well. I don't normally review much of the things I buy, but I just had to point out a few things on this unit. If you're looking at these types of units you are probably a DIYer like me. I got the unit because I knew the replacement parts are readily available and its easy to upgrade. The unit works for me because I made it work for me. If you want something specific right out of the box, search elsewhere. This unit isn't Harbor Freight, nor is it Husky. Its just basic china parts assembled in the USA that can be at your house really fast, thus the 3 out of 5 stars. ... show more
