I am a avid hobby machinist and generally use these in my sherline mill. I have tried almost every brand of end mill and primarily use YG1 Alu-power and Gorilla mills, which are some of the best you can get. These 3 flute end mills are absolutely razor sharp and as you can see in the picture I cut my finger pulling it out! They cut like butter in steel or aluminum and for me personally the 3 flute is the best of both worlds as it cuts fast like a 2 flute with good chip evacuation but leaves a much better finish, with a ridgid mill you can expect almost mirror like finishes. One of the best parts is you get 5! 5 end mills for less than $30 and they are perfect, if you are looking for razor sharp and long lasting micro end mills then these are a no brainer and I personally bought 20 of them which will last me forever. ... show more

This 1/4" end mill was effective in carefully milling out a pocket in 6061 aluminum after using a drill bit to drill initial holes. The only issue arouse when finishing final passes to clean up bottom of pocket. To clean up dimples from drill bit pilot holes, a VERY shallow plunge cut was necessary. This is where the bit failed and snapped. Keep in mind there will be stresses on a 4" long, 1/4" shank mill as it's pretty long for the diameter. I contacted the seller through Amazon and advised of the issue. They immediately offered to refund or replace the bit. I elected to receive a replacement and they shipped it immediately. I was able to then complete the project. TLDR - Bit quality 4 stars. Customer service 5 stars. Don't be afraid to purchase this bit. ... show more

I"m pretty happy with these cutters. They held up well on softer alloys with lubrication, and were able to get through hardened alloys with some finessing of the toolpath. Overall, they got jobs done and I ended up with a nice finish. Pretty good for the money, especially since I'm an occasional user and don't need to invest heavily in my hobby tools. ... show more

These are extremely cheap end mills but they work. Don’t expect them to last very long, especially if you abuse them. Get your feeds/speeds down, take it easy and they are okay for the money.
