  • Perfect for gram weenies
Style: Triflex
If you are the type of hiker who spends the offseason obsessively trying to come up with ways to reduce the weight of your lightweight camping gear, this is the pot support for you. Per my postal scales, this weighs 6 grams, and the pot support that came with my Soto stove weighs 26 grams. Switching to this saved 20 grams of pack weight. As far as I can tell, the function of this item (when installed on the stove base) is about the same as the one that comes with the stove. In short, if getting rid of 20 grams is worth the price of this pot holder (and it was, to me), there should be no reason not to buy this. ... show more

  • Very sturdy
Style: Triflex
Loved this new addition to my Soto Windmaster. Took it out on a 400 mile backpacking trip. Weird as expected. Very sturdy and able to hold my 900 ml toaks pot. I was able to reduce ounces by replacing the 4 prong bulky attachment with this slip fold flat attachment that takes up less space in my cook kit. Exactly as described. A must buy ... show more

  • Works perfectly, too bad it doesn't come with the stove!
Style: Triflex
Thanks to the other reviewers who pointed out that this thing is the way to go. I agree and here's why. 1. It's superlight and simple. No "moving parts" or hinges like the quadruped one that comes with the stove. The larger "quadruped" one that came with the stove seemed flimsy. I know titanium is supposed to be strong but I can totally see whacking part of it off if I'm not careful. Not so with this simple little beauty. 2. It worked perfectly with my rather large backpacking pots. There was just NO NEED for anything bigger. In fact, your pot will balance on the stove element without the tripod on it. So make sure this is on before you light your stove or it'll go out and you'll waste fuel. 3. It took a couple of tries to figure out the simplest way to remember how to put it on and take it off, but once I did, it was a cinch and I didn't have to worry about nicking my fingers on the metal edge. Love this...it's a must have for your Soto windmaster if you value lightweight and simple. ... show more

  • Best choice for most
Style: Triflex
Goes on faster with less hassle than the larger one, no hassle to stow when dark, light, stable for most cooking needs, larger really only needed for maybe large pans. The design, and tech of the stove/system in unmatched in the industry, the next best choice attempted to copy this SOTO but failed IN MY OPINION . Made in Japan, Boils fastest, and its quiet and does not sound like a rocket ;) ... show more

  • Excellent design
Style: Triflex
Super light, easy to use, durable, but seems super easy to lose. So be careful where you put it. Never once had it slip off the burner. I had a friend lose multiple bowls of dinner on his MSR Pocket Rocket 2 because the catch for the arm failed. Keep in mind, the arms are very small. I never spilled a single dinner in 143 nights on the Pacific Crest Trail this summer, despite having an enormous 2L pot. We only saw one other couple with a pot that big; It's basically unheard of. If you're not a careful person, you won't be so successful. Most other hikers had some sort of mishap in 5-6 months. I always made sure the stove was level, that the pot was centered by checking how easily it tilted in all 3 directions, and never walked away from it or moved about around it. The stove was always treated like a bomb, which seems over the top, But hey, I never knocked a dinner over... ... show more

  • Incredibly Stable
Style: Triflex
While I don't like the idea of removable/interchangeable potholders since it gives you something to lose, the reality is that SOTO nailed it with the Triflex and 4Flex. They are both way more stable than the folding legs of most other canister-mount stoves. The Triflex is ideal for small 1 person pots like your titanium cups up to 750 ml. I use it with the Stanley Adventure Nesting Two Cup Cookset. Once on, it's rock solid and does not budge at all. No wiggle or wobble whatsoever. I like that it folds flat(ish) when not in use. It's small enough that you can probably leave it on all the time. The 4Flex is better for bigger pots and frying pans. It doesn't fold as flat and is stored wrapped around the stove lengthwise. ... show more

  • Fits MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe
Style: Triflex
My base cook kit is an MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe and a single wall Snow Peak 450 titanium cup. The MSR pot supports spread a little too far to hold the small cup well. Rather than purchase another $70 stove, I took a shot w the $10 Soto TriFlex support which clips over and extends into the burner. Turns out it fits perfect, supports the 450 cup base well, and (if you're into counting every gram) w the MSR supports removed, shaves a little more than a 1/4oz off the total weight of the stove - bringing the MSR PR Deluxe down to the 2.3oz weight of the Soto stove when used w the TriFlex. ... show more
