  • Excellent
Color: White Size: Queen
Not bad at all. The warm weather has returned where I live, so I was looking for a cool set of sheets for the summer. This fits the bill perfectly. It's soft, silky and cooling, and I'm getting great sleep. If I were offered a duvet cover in the same material I'd jump at the chance.

  • The powder blue, 1979 el Camino of bed sheets
Color: White Size: Queen
Easing into these sheets are like reclining in a powder blue 79 el Camino. Cool, delicious and everyone wants to be you. Maybe it’s just me but when I’m introduced to something brand new to me, my initial reaction is to think, “Impossible nonsense! TYCEL, you say? If it’s so good, why haven’t I heard of it before? Cotton! We’re a cotton sheets family now and forever!” Then I bang my sword cane on the ground 6 times for emphasis. The height of illogical for sure but in this instance I was a bit more apprehensive than I would be testing/reviewing new technologies like a fusion powered butter churn or a pocket napalm drone. Reason being: sleep is sacred. Not just for me but for my partner. For my cat. If one of us three have a bad night sleep in bed, it’s more than likely the recipient of the grumpy pants scorn and ire will be the first available stupid face they see in the stupid morning (just to let you all know, no one takes their bad day out on the cat - tho she does not feel the same way). And then with that price tag? Almost 100$ for sheets. NOT cotton? Do these sheets also do spreadsheets?! Not quite but these will be a fixture of summer as much as swimming in ye old rock quarry and gushing fire hydrants was (not my childhood but eating pizza pockets and marathons of Super Mario brothers sounded kinda, eh). I know what you’re thinking. Are the sheets haunted? No. But if they were, the ghost would be a walk-in freezer. In a standard 69 degree bedroom, with no fan or central air vent blowing directly on them they are a level of cool that makes no sense in the grand cosmic scheme of things, is what I’m saying. Baffled I consulted with the cat (neither a priest nor a Doctor of Temperaturology) who agreed, while not a wonder of the world like tasteful’s fish and shrimp in a can, these sheets will be a reprieve when the temp is 104% with 312% humidity and the only people you see outside are clearly hallucinations brought on by the swamp broiler in your head. And these are thick sheets. Not a crêpe, but a New England pancake. I did the bed math and they boast an almost thicker F x M = S (fabric mass to sheet, keep up) than my favorite cottons. If I had to pin down the most comparable feel, it’s got all the best qualities of silk with a lot of your favorite quirks from cotton but without the thin and clingy/greasiness that you can experience with either. Also, they are possibly haunted by “Mindy” the corner grocery store’s old walk-in freezer. Spoooooky cold! Not convinced? Me neither. So I put them through the washer and dryer about 5-6 times. There was a documentary series on about making documentaries and there may have been some alcohol. Not only did they absolutely hold up after the water fight but they feel broke in now but not broken. And they still look really good and haven’t become the wrinkled face of a 300 year old alligator. No, they don’t bounce to life like cotton after the dryer but they aren’t something to be ashamed of either. I had a set of cheapie silk sheets when I was young that went through one wash and they came out singing Weezer’s sweater song (undone?) and looked like an ancient reptiles behind. Have you ever ironed sheets? Really?! if I have to iron something to enjoy it then it’s going either to the dry cleaner or the back of my closet but I can tell you right now, I don’t think you and I are gonna work out long term (they iron their sheets, they said…). Are they too cold for winter tho? Yes. These would be like jumping nude into an ice barge in February but you were expecting a hot tub. I love them for end of spring and summer but much like the wizened barn owl that lives on my street who announces the changing of the season through riddles and hoots, when fall/winter has come, these sheets will not be shy about letting you know the season is changing. C-c-c-cooold, I bet. Who? That’s the barn owl saying it’s about to be summer and he’s been working out all winter. His wings are like, wings on wings, bre. ... show more

  • Nice sheets at a poor value.
Color: Champagne Size: Queen
This sheet set feels great and well made but has some questionable design choices and a poor value. While the material for the sheets are comfortable and pleasant to sleep on, I struggle to find why the pricing isn't better. The fitted sheet has a single pocket on it that could be used to hold a phone or other small objects you would want to easily access while laying in bed. However, if you share a queen bed with someone, you'll need to decide who gets that one pocket on their side. I think this might be the reason for the odd placement. Rather than the pocket being positioned towards the head of the bed, they put it in the middle. This allows you to position the pocket on either side of the bed and/or freely rotate your sheets so you don't ever have the pocket at the foot of the bed. However, this choice also means that it's always less convenient to use the pocket. I'd almost rather it not be there at all. The flat sheet has a logo tag on it for the side that you would normally want to face out. This also becomes annoying when sleeping because of it's placement. I would have rather that not been there at all so I just cut it off. All of the stitching was good on all items in the set. I didn't have any issues with the quality of the material or how it was put together. What I liked about it: Well made. Nice quality stitching. What I didn't like: Only one side pocket in the middle on fitted sheet. Overall, while these sheets are good quality, I don't recommend them due to the poor value and odd design choices. ... show more

  • Exquisite, Soft and Premium
Color: White Size: Queen
The media could not be loaded. Tencel is an exceptionally soft fabric that’s hypoallergenic and well suited for sensitive skin. It is also quite durable. Tencel is made from several types of wood pulp, though it’s most commonly eucalyptus. The wood pulp is chemically processed into a semi-synthetic cellulose fiber that’s used in an array of products like clothing and bedding and considered to be a premium fabric. The positive of Tencel is the process of manufacturing doesn't use toxic chemicals harmful to the environment or workers and the raw materials are sustainable and use less water and pesticides. The only negative I can identify is care in laundering. One must adhere to labeling to properly care for Tencel. After putting these on my bed and sleeping in them, all I can say is WOW, what a wonderful cool sleep! I didn't notice excessive noise from the sheets but that would be something a persons brain would blot out quickly anyway, like living next to a railroad track. People living near tracks don't even notice trains. If you put a value on your comfort as I do, using hundred dollar pillows and expensive premium sheets, spoil yourself with a set of these Sophia & William Deep Pocket Queen Sheet Set, 100% Tencel Lyocell Sheet Set, you'll be very happy with your purchase and very glad you did. Just watch the laundering process. Five Stars * * * * * ... show more

  • Soft, lightweight and silky!
Color: White Size: Queen
They feel like nice hotel sheets. Very soft and silky, but most importantly lightweight. I am a hot sleeper so I need sheets that don't over-insulate and these are perfect for that. The only gripe I have with them is that they make a decent amount of squeeky friction noise from whatever faux silk material they use. It kind of sounds like a windbreaker jacket. I'd say it's worth it for how soft and comfortable they are. ... show more

  • Beautiful
Color: Champagne Size: Queen
I am obsessed with this material. It is simply beyond soft, and gets softer every time you wash it. These sheets are better than silk sheets, and they also wash a lot better.I love the neutral color, which matches and complements any decor. Highly recommended.
