    • Works good purely as a remote, but expect to learn almost all devices manually

Wanted to find an smart IR blaster to bridge the few devices in various rooms that were not Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Zigbee capable into my smart home. This is a cheap but functional solution those things like fans, non-smart TVs, etc, but when they say there's like 50,000 devices you can use this with, that doesn't mean they have code programming for all those devices. The device library for most items is VERY small and mostly brands you've never heard of. So a Logitech Harmony this is not. Even for things like my TCL Roku TV and Vizio soundbar, it's ALL button-by-button manual learning. And for that, the interface is fairly clunky. But with a little determination, you can get most IR devices working. There are a couple other little quirks that are unfortunate, like the difficulty getting my fans programmed in to act like fans in Google Home as each has different button schemes (one is an on/off toggle, one has unique on/speed and off buttons). So this works OK to get IR things into Smart Life / Google Home to function as a remote control, but it doesn't quite get me to the place I want where all the button functions are available to program into my Google Home automations. My desire was to be able to program my garage fan to cycle at certain times of day, but this unit combined with the quirky button scheme of the fan are not really allowing that goal to be achieved. Will I still use this, or get more for other rooms? Very possibly. I do like the ability to have non-smart IR devices have their remotes accessible on my iPhone. But it's not quite the IR to smart home automation bridge I was hoping for. ... show more

I bought another product like this that the learn functions did not work. This one the learn function worked most of the time and the IR output from this fills a 16’x 14’ room. My experience programing high end all in one remotes made setting up the smart IR remote control easier. I am using this with the IOS and Android Smart Life app. I have bought three of these to control devices in three different rooms. They are not designed to mount on the wall but I did using sticky hook and loop tape. I was able to set the IR controller to work with the following: • Sony receiver. • Motorola video over IP set top box. • Visio TV • Electric quartz heater. • Yamaha receiver. • Sony TV. • Pioneer receiver. • LG TV. This works good with giving my Insignia Fire TV some Google Home and Google Assistant Control, does not have all the Amazon remote features but the basic ones like On / Off / Mute / Unmute/ Volume + / Volume - and channel changing with Google Home voice command To turn up and down the volume with Google Assistant say "turn up the volume on [TV name]" and when it gets to the right volume you say "stop". Was able to set up an old room AC that has a non display remote. Since it's old, Google only controls On / Off, I was able to easily manually program temperature + and temperature - in the app and smart Life created a virtual remote for it. Once you create the device to be used then you can import it into Alexa or Google Home. After you connect and initially set up the Snart IR with a 2.4 GHz WiFi network, you can then control IR devices or add IR devices with any WiFi network or cellular data. Size is good, It's not a huge hockey puck, no obnoxious lights on it, just a simple red LED dot. Lag is minimal. ... show more

Purchased these to control my ac's while I was away..worked for 1 day and then went offline and I was unable to continue to control my ac and had to rely on a neightbor. It wasn't my wifi;my cameras continued to work. Waste of money; Unreliable!
