    • Not a snatch block.
As a pulley, this works fine. It's strong, smooth, and quiet, more than sufficient for home gym work. However, it is listed as being a snatch block. It you're unfamiliar, a snatch block is a pulley that can unhook/rotate the sides independently so you can slip the pulley onto a cable/line without threading the free end through or dismantling the pulley. They're awesome. You can just grab (snatch, if you will) the middle of the line and rapidly clip the pulley on. This is not a snatch block. Both sides and the top are one piece of steel. There is not much clearance between the top of the pulley and the top of the frame (or the bottom of the anchor eye bolt) to allow a looped end of cable to the threaded through. This means I have to use a couple of wrenches to remove the pulley wheel from the frame, place the cable, replace the pulley wheel, and reset the bolts. Not something I want to do more than once. As a pulley that is going to be attached to one cable for a long time, it's fine. But it isn't a snatch block. ... show more
