  • Dehumidifier
Style: 6,000 Sq.Ft.
I run a dehumidifier in my basement all summer long and this dehumidifier works great. It removes a lot of humidity from the air and keeps my basement nice and dry and cool. The only thing I don't like about it is,the hose attachment on mine don't work so well because the hose has to run to long over to my sump pump and it won't drain correctly to remove the water, so it still fills up the tank. I now just let it fill the tank and empty it about 3 times a day. All and all it works well. ... show more

  • Shinco? WTF, but I'm Impressed
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
My dehumidifier luck is like 1 year. I bought a Black & Decker from Amazon and it lasted a year. Fortunately I bought the extra warranty and was refunded instantly. Shinco? Well they're all Chinese and I bought this 75 pint unit. It socks the moisture out of the air in no time and pumps water into the sink. Year 2 it started freezing up with a HUGE block of ice. After I removed the extra black filter that came with the unit it's back yo 100% normal. So far it's the best I had even better than my expensive Fredericks. ... show more

  • Very nice but, uncertain if the box was opened previously
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
We just received our Shinco 70 Pints Energy Star Dehumidifier with Pump, for Home, Basements, Room up to 7,000 Sq.Ft with Auto or Manual Drainage. Both the box and the owners’ manual came with instructions to be certain the dehumidifier is stored upright for 24 prior to being plugged in and used. We waited more than the 24 hours before plugging it in, as it wasn’t possible to know how the unit was stored or shipped prior to arrival. Pros: - The device is easy to set up. - The instructions were good but could have been a little clearer regarding initially starting the unit. Cons: - The unit appears that it may have been opened previously for two reasons: 1. When it was unboxed, I found the bottom of the box was missing (the corrugated cardboard flaps were missing – see photo). This could be by design so people don’t tip the box upside down to take the dehumidifier out but that wasn’t clear. Plastic shipping straps were used to keep the dehumidifier from falling out the bottom. 2. When the unit was first plugged in, it did not start in “automatic” mode as indicated in the instructions and appeared to return to prior settings and, it began running immediately when it was plugged in rather than needing to press the on button as indicated in the instructions. Not knowing if the unit was used previously is a bit concerning, especially due to the price but, the other packing materials appear to be new and unused. The unit was clean and appears to be working now that I’ve set the desired level to draw moisture out of the air. Note: I’ve yet to test the pump but will update the post if found not to be working. Summary: Very nice unit. Easy to set up. Very similar to our prior 70 pint Frigidaire dehumidifier that worked flawlessly for the past six (6) years. If anyone else has purchased one, I’d be interested to hear if the bottom of their box was also missing. ... show more

  • Effective moisture control
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
Very effective. I purchased to help manage the humidity in my boathouse which is a constant battle because I have an open boat well plus garage storage area (about 800 sq. Ft). This works amazing as it keeps the whole area dry. Before purchasing I had to run fans during humid days to prevent moisture from forming on my cement floor. This works great and no more moisture on my floors (or anywhere else)! Definitely purchase if you have moisture issues as it does the job! Easy to use, easy to empty. ... show more

  • Junk no help from customer support.
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
Dehumidifier worked great until 3 days past my return date. Now it will only run in low speed will not stay in high. No help from customer support. Do not buy $200 down the drain.

  • Best Dehumidifier I've Owned
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
This unit very effectively removes water from the air, and lots of it. It's about as quiet as you could hope for, too. The only quirk, and this has been an issue with every dehumidifier I've owned, is that when running on Auto, it does not cycle on and off enough to stay close to the set humidity level. Seems to maintain plus or minus about 8% either side of the desired setting. No big deal here in the Louisiana swamp, where I usually just run it set on Continuous, and turn it off for a while when we have the rare cold (dry) front. A great unit! ... show more

  • Poor Performance in reducing humidity
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
I am using the SHINCO unit in my basement. There is about 1400 square feet. The unit runs quiet and is easy to roll around. And it has a nice appearance. Unfortunately it does not perform its main function. I followed the instructions and let the unit sit still for 24 hours, vertical position, then I set up the unit to run continuously, draining through the larger supplied hose (9mm) which then goes into a PVC tube and over to a floor drain. I set the machine to 45% RH and let it run on low fan speed. The relative humidity in the basement was 59% when the unit was first started. Right away, the unit started to produce water, i could clearly see the flow in the clear hose, and it flowed to the drain very well. I was thrilled. But after 3 days of running this new de-humidifier, the lowest RH reading I have seen is 56%. This SHINCO unit is NOT reducing humidity, and the drain hose (clear poly tube) is now dry. I am giving time to the unit to improve. I am trying HIGH fan speed. But in 1-2 more days, I will return the product, due to failure to perform. My previous dehumidifier (Honeywell) reduced humidity in this basement to 42%, and this new SHINCO unit has more daily capacity - a 70-pint/day rating. But it's looking like a fail. ... show more

  • Works great!!
Style: 7,000 Sq.Ft. with Pump
This is my first dehumidifier that I bought more than 13 months ago after thorough research and countless days of reading reviews. It has worked perfectly since day 1. I have no complaints about it. I live in central Texas and the humidity can get terribly high and making my central air work overtime. The Shinco will reduce the humidity inside my home from 63-73% down to 53% or less. I also wheel the unit it to the bathroom to reduce the condensation due to the hot water my kids use while showering. It makes a100% difference. To me, it really just sounds like a fan set at low to medium speed. The noise doesn’t bother me at all being a huge fan of air fans. With my tinnitus 24/7, the fan is soothing. I’m about to buy my 2nd unit so I can keep one permanently in the bathroom. I hope this review will help someone. ... show more
