    • Great item for band student.
I ordered this for my nephew who is a middle school band student and was always complaining how tired his arms would get while playing his sax. Thought we could give this a try and see if it helps him during band concerts.... and it did!! The neck padding is really great and provided a lot of comfort for my nephew. Because the padding was so good, he was able to allow the sax to rest on his neck from time to time to give his arms a rest. The clip was o.k. to snap his sax on and off of the strap, but I feel when he gets older and his fingers get bigger, he will have problems working that clip. May have to change that out in the future. All in all, we are very happy with this next strap and recommend it for band students looking for a break! ... show more

The strap arrived neatly and securely packaged. And I can report that it looks good and is comfortable to wear. The hook that attaches it to my saxophone has a plastic coating around the "hook" portion that comes into contact with the body ring, so there's no metal-on-metal rubbing. I appreciate that on my Conn 10M. Where this neck strap excels is the ease and speed of adjusting the length of the strap. It's literally as fast and easy as tugging the tightening mechanism and dragging it up or down to loosen or tighten the strap. This works very well, and -- once positioned -- the strap holds its position securely. Given the comfort and ease of adjustment, I'm happy to rate it 5 stars. The only thing I might want to change would be extending the plastic coating farther around the hook as an added safety measure. But all metal that would normally touch the sax is properly covered.     • Good backup strap, not as comfortable as hoped.
The adjustment mechanism on the strap works very well. The neckband is padded, but not all the way across. In the middle of the neck strap portion itself, there is no padding. On the left and right side of the center there is padding. My experience was that the pressure of the weight of the saxophone caused the padded portions of the strap to actually press into my shoulders and became somewhat uncomfortable. In addition, the snap which connects to the hoop on the saxophone while nicely polished is not a very smooth acting mechanism. I don’t think additional lubrication would help. It’s just sort of cheaply made. The construction of the neck pad is good and these rope material to support the horn is also high-quality. I’ll keep this in my case as a back up strap just in case my primary breaks. ... show more

Got this for my son who just started to play saxophone and he's really happy with it. Said it was much more comfortable than the one they had at school that he borrowed. Nice and cushioned and easy to slide up and down to adjust. He's happy with it.

    • Seems comfortable and pretty heavy duty.
Looking at it, the band around your neck has, not a lot, but enough padding to be comfortable and the entire thing is mechanically super-simple so its secure and pretty heavy-duty. Nothing is plastic.

    • Easy clip, good adjustable length
The SGPRO saxophone neck strap was easy to clip onto the instrument and felt secure for marching band. The length was easy to adjust one handed on the go. The "soft neck pad" wasn't very comfortable out of the box, but maybe it will get a bit better once it's worn in a little more. We will see.

    • Simple, comfortable with a tenor sax
Using this with a tenor sax, and no complaints over the few weeks it’s been in use so far. Super comfortable. Distributes the weight of the instrument much better than the basic unpadded type. Provides the necessary support while playing but swivels to allow freedom of movement. The length is easy to adjust and it stays the correct length.
