Quality of safe was generally good. But a few poor things: 1) You provide the expandable sleeves for mounting, but DO NOT provide the drill size hole to accept them. 2) the battery compartment slots that hold the batteries are very tight and hard to get the batteries in 3) AND WORST OF ALl! Your instructions are so brief and the print is so tiny, you can hardly read them without a magnifying glass. Poorly done! ... show more

I've been putting this safe through the wringer for a while now and I've been pleased with the results. One of the problem with cheap safes is how the locking bars operate. One weakness an uncomfortable number of safes have is that you can whack them with a heavy mallet, and get the gate bar to momentarily retract against the springs, meaning you can just hit it and open the door quickly. This safe does not have that problem as far as I can tell. I do wish that it had a bar on the hinge side, which would help prevent hinge cut attacks; but as far as the bars set into the body, and as deep as the door is set, I don't think that it would open even if the hinges were cut. It comes with a waterproof bag and removable shelf which is nice. And I suspect that the fire rating is roughly accurate. It has provisions for securing it to your building; but it's also small enough that, in the event of a fire, if you left unanchored, you could grab it easily enough. I have a friend who has a similar safe that he's disguised as a piece of furniture. His house got broke in to, and they demolished his wall safe, but didn't even touch the plain view safe. So, there's options with what you can do with it. :) ... show more
