  • Solid rack for the money
Style: Black
Best thing about this rack is that when you go somewhere you can easily take it apart and lock most of the pieces in your vehicle. Owned this for a couple of months now and happy so far. Bought a returned unit and saved some dough. I can see where people have had issues with the plastic knobs getting broken in shipping. Probably one of the only setbacks with this unit. Even the more pricey racks have issues. Noticed some people mentioning slippage or things getting loose. My remedy to this is a doing a crisscross with a ratchet strap. I've bounced over railroad tracks, speed bumps, and bumpy dirt roads with no ill effect. Also make sure if there is only one bike to place it to the inboard side. Did put a reflector on the hitch and some chains but you can never be too safe. Might want to at least put some red tape back there but other than that for the money doubt this one can be beat. Good Luck! ... show more

  • Great Product at a Reasonable Price
Style: Black 2020
I am an avid biker. I own both steel geared bikes and aluminum fixed gear bikes. I have always bought roof mount racks, but wanted to try tray mounts. Why? In short, you do not have to lift the bike over your head and you have a secure spot at eye level to check your bike before riding (tire pressure, lube, and crank/derailleur inspection). I bought the Allen Sports tray rack a few months ago. I quickly realized that it was incredible unstable--lots and lots of sway and play. I bought a brand-name stabilizer, but the results were only slightly different. In my opinion, it is just poorly made--so poorly made, that I ended up selling it at a loss (way too many parts to box and ship back). What is fantastic about the Lenox is that it has an internal stabilizer (sleeve within a sleeve) and is easy as pie to assemble. Not sure if all versions of the product are the same, but the Retrospec version (the one I purchased) is 1.25 but does also provide a 2 inch sleeve as well. With my Curt 1.25 hitch, it is absolutely perfect. Minimal sway and play and the bike does not require extra bungees and/or straps. Also, it is so simply to fold--although not hinged, the pins are super well made/easy to remove and insert. Before purchasing, I noticed that some complained about the rubber straps designed to secure your wheels. I do not have the same opinion. The rubber straps are well made and have just the right amount of flex. Maybe they received a defective product (?). In any case, my opinion is that this is a great product for a reasonable price. You can opt for a Thule or Rock Bros for almost half a grand (and even more), or save your money and purchase something that works--honestly. I spent 50 dollars less on the Lenox, and can honestly say it is superior in every way. ... show more

  • Functionable
Style: Black
Heavy peices fit perfectly to your hitch. The bikes sway and bounce slightly while driving. Be carefully with dips as it hangs kind of low to the ground. Worst case I've had was that it loosens the attachment so it sways from left to right after I hit a dip in the road. Just keep your wrench in your car to tighten it. Slower driving is usually your best bet. I can carry 2 bikes with no problem. Take it off when not in use to preserve it from the rain and keep the extra weigt off your car. I wish it had a special storage bag or box though too. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and disassemble for carrying your bicycle.
Style: Black 2020
This is a very good, light weight, bicycle rack and fits my 2" receiver on my Honda Ridgeline. It is easy to attach and set up, and has easily removable arms and top bar so you wouldn't have to worry about someone taking it. It takes about 2 minutes to mount it and another 2 minutes to store it away. I would recommend keeping a 19 mm wrench handy for tightening the bolt so it won't rattle each time you put it up. All 3 arms are removable without any tools, just the cotter key that is attached to the base unit. The whole thing only weighs 30 or 40 lbs, so it's not heavy. It fits right into your 2" trailer hitch. Just take out the receiver and ball assembly and insert the bottom piece and put the bolt in and tighten it up, then put in the cotter key, attach the 2 lower units with their cotter keys, and put the top piece in with it's cotter key, put your bicycle on, slide the locking bar in place, and you're ready to go. The top bar also has a hole to attach a lock so you don't have to dismount the bike if you need to leave it attached for a while. But I would still use a chain lock in addition to that. I love mine and with it's ease of use, I am able to go riding whenever and where-ever I want too. I'm and older man of 63 years, so this has been a great way to get out and be more mobile. I can now get to the longer bicycle paths that are around my city. This is a great product to keep me exercising. ... show more

  • Great bike rack for the price...
Style: Black 2020
This style bike rack for the price is a bargain. I was looking for this design ( a rack that holds the tires/wheels) instead of supports the frame) because mountain bikes and beach cruisers have uneven frames and this makes the bike sit at unusual angles when using the horizontal fork-type rack, often hitting each other when there's multiple bikes in a rack. Bikes sitting into tire/wheel cradles like this one is a great advantage in my opinion. The construction is good - not great. It's very easy to install with almost unlimited adjustments. One thing that is of poor design is the two outboard tire/wheel cradle support bars could easily fold up and down but to save a couple of hinges, the pieces have to be un-pinned, lifted outward or the horizontal receivers and inserted into vertical receivers and re-pinned in place. In addition, after a dozen uses, the middle (upright) square tube has loosened a bit so it either has to be bolted or welded in place to stabilize it. BOTTOMLINE: Again, for the money, this style rack will fit the need of many bike-hauling people. ... show more
