    • Nice grip trainer, swing trainer is loud
This is a swing trainer with a grip that will help teach you the right way to hold a club. When you swing the club with the correct tempo, the club will expand and make a loud "click" when the weight is fully extended. It is not really "retractable" as the retraction is done with a powerful spring that offers the resistance to your swing. Don't put your hand on the shaft while the club is extended or you could get a pinch. My kids learned that the hard way. The weight of this training aid does not really feel like a real club, and the loud noise it makes when you use it makes it hard to use around other people or in a quieter environment. ... show more

    • Not a bad way to get in some practice swings
Nobody is going to mistake this swing trainer for a professional training device, but for the casual (read: mediocre) player like me, it's actually pretty useful. For me, it's all about repetition because I just haven't played enough golf in my life to have muscle memory of what a good swing feels like. The more practice swings I'm able to get, the better, even if it's in my living room instead of on a course. This trainer gives enough feedback to let me know when I'm at least approaching the correct swing plane. My brother-in-law is a fairly serious golfer, and he was impressed with the way it made him think about his form in real time instead of just "grip it and rip it" practice like at the driving range. I could see this being useful for golfers of any skill level, but probably moreso for players like me who are still figuring out their swing. ... show more

I had never seen one of these before but I ordered it because it seemed pretty cool, and I’m glad I got it! My kids have been playing with it nonstop. Everyone in our family has tried it out. The hand grips show you where to put your hands and how to hold a golf club. It’s compact and effective and works indoors or outdoors! I think this is a decent idea but I find that I don’t like the grip that puts my hands in a uncomfortable position. I think my hands are a little big for the grip that’s installed on this. Also, I’d like to see the spring tension be adjustable to different swing speeds. Otherwise, it gives a good loud audible click at full extension during the swing. It’s up to you to recognize if that click was at the right point of your swing. The ball on the end has a good amount of weight that you can feel in the beginning of your downswing, which is helpful. I think this might be worthwhile to help show my wife how to swing the club properly as she is just at the point of wanting to learn to play. ... show more

A few swings with this at the range and my swing timing immediately improved. It literally helped in no time at all and I was hitting the ball better. Only downside is as long as I remember to not open up too early I don't really need it anymore. But, I passed it around and everyone else who tried it loved it, and it's nice to have it around and keep my swing on point. ... show more
