I know, I know….. this goes against the lightweight, aero roadie theme but I am looking for comfort and not Stage wins. I saw this on gravel bikes and thought “Why Not?” I installed on my carbon fiber frame , 105 equipped Vitus Zenium. I became a RedShift fan when I installed their stem on another bike. I gotta say this has made a huge improvement in ride quality and lessened fatigue during my 25-40 mile daily rides. I’ve been upping my mileage and am logging close to 200 miles a week now. I (did) get sore towards the end of the week. I’ve tried many different configurations to dampen road vibrations with minimal returns. This seat post along with the stem has been a true game changer. My entire body feels much better and I can put some power down later in my rides where I used to be aching from joint pain. I was also very impressed with how much difference the preload adjustments made in the ride. I have had nearly a dozen mountain bikes with various suspension systems ranging from entry level to expert and none of the preload adjustments have been as noticeable as this seat post. I ran full preload on initial set up and was impressed but I love to explore what capabilities new equipment has. I backed off the preload screw and was pleasantly surprised at the tune-ability of this seat post . I can close by saying if your thinking about it, buy it. ... show more

I've been a mountain biker since I was a child and most of my life I never would have found a product like this necessary. To be honest I doubt most people would want or need something like this. It wasn't until I injured my lower back and now have a couple compressed discs to deal with that putting one of these on my rigid commuter/bikepacking bike started to make a lot of sense. I shopped around and looked at the thudbuster, but there was limited adjustability with their rubber inserts and I've read they wear out over time. Redshift says this post has infinite adjustability, and while I wouldn't necessarily call it 'infinite' I would say it has an adequate bandwidth of adjustability to fine tune a comfortable ride. It really helps take the edge off small bumps once you dial in the preload. Obviously this is not going to be good for rough trail riding- for that you're going to need to either have a suspension fork/frame or just stand up off the seat the old fashioned way to cut through the rough. But for dirt roads, or potholes or uneven transitions on my commute, it works fantastic to keep my back from flaring up which keeps me in the saddle more. Also if you're wondering about bob/sag on the post, its present, but very small. I noticed when I first got the post but these days (3ish months after purchase) it doesn't bother me or feel like its draining watts from my ride whatsoever. 10/10 would reccomend if you're in a sutuation like me 0/10 would reccomend if you're trying to make your squishy bike more squishy. ... show more

So far, I've got two of these installed on my e-bikes. They help make rides more enjoyable and less painful, whether long or short. The difference was night and day compared to the stock static seat posts. Compared to a SR Suntour NCX, it has no rattle and is easy to maintain pedal efficiency while still providing a maximum level of suspension. I weigh approximately 220 lbs and have the pre-load just about maxed out with the extra spring installed, so if you're heavier than that there may be better options for you. I decided to go with Redshift because the product looked to be well made and the installation video was very well made. It’s adjustable and went together easily. I probably should have watched the video longer to see if there was anything on mounting the saddle to the seat post. This was difficult in my case but I got it done with some additional effort. One great thing about the saddle mount is that it allowed my factory Cannondale saddle to be level which the factory seat post did not. All in all I am extremely pleased.
