I pitted this against my name brand flashlight with triple (3) Cree 3xXP-G LEDs. My flashlight lost. The beam throw is a little weird to me – There are two rows of 4 LEDs making 8 LEDS total. The bulk of the light is sent straight down the middle with some sidespill. Since the light is not focused (which is probably desired for bike/scooter riding) the throw distance is not as far as I thought. Compared to my flashlight, my flashlight can spotlight objects in the far distance - 500 yards. This headbeam seems to lose its potency past 150 yards. Not really a bad thing, just an observation. The build of this unit is STRONG like a brick. In fact, it IS a brick. At full brightness, it will get quite warm, especially in warmer weather. The body is aluminum and seems to dissipate the heat some. The digital readout shows the brightness level or mode, then changes to approximate runtime. I ran down the light to see how accurate the estimate was, and it was pretty good. Within a half hour, at full brightness - which was 5 ½ hours. The mount is a little janky in design. The mount swivels 360 degrees to allow the light to point in different directions. My complaint is that the swivel needs to have more friction or have a lock to keep the light from jarring into a different direction. I tried tightening the bolt on the swivel but it didn’t do anything. If the light is mounted with the swivel on top or bottom, parallel to the earth, the light will likely stay in that direction. However, I would not use this for off-roading or mountain biking - I am fairly certain the light will lose its bearing. Minus 1-star for the mount. The taillight has a simple wraparound tension mount. Strangely, the USB recharging port is a USB-Micro. Thanks for reading and hope this helps. ... show more

This particular bicycle light is by far the largest and heaviest light I have tested and used. But don't let the weight discourage you - it's also one of the brightest and holds a charge the longest, too. When I opened the box I was impressed by the sturdiness of the manufacturing of the light case. It's made from 7005 Aluminum and is rated as IPX6 waterproof. The charging port has an Input for USB-C cords, and a USB-A output to use the light as a power bank. I found it readily charged up my GALAXY A14 5G phone and still had plenty of charge left. The neatest thing for me is the digital display screen on the front. When charging you get a numerical display of the percent of charge of the light, a nice feature if you are in a hurry and do not have the time to wait for a go-nogo light the others have. During a ride, you get a digital display of how much riding time you have left at the current light intensity. Something else that's really nice if you forgot to charge the light up the day before(guilty as charged!). When it comes to illumination, you have plenty of choices. You have a HIGH setting which provides 5 hours of light, a MEDIUM which provides 6.5 hours, a LOW which provides 12 hours, a POWER SAVER which provides 40 hours, and a FLASH which provides 5 hours. The handlebar mount is a nice clamp with a bolt that you turn tight to mount. It's easy ON-OFF and can be mounted to any 26.2 or 31.8 bar. The light rotates on a GO-PRO type mount and can be turned 360 around 360 degrees of rotation. I did 25 miles today with the light mounted, and it never once moved as others have with this type of mount. But wait - there is more. You also get a USB rechargeable taillight which provides for 4 modes of HIGH steady - HIGH-FLAASH-Low Flash-SOS flash. the mount is a nice stretchy strap that has slots to secure the light to your saddle bag or on the back of your helmet strap. In use, it is definitely one of, if not the brightest of lights that I have used in the daytime. Set on flash, this definitely gets the driver's attention, and despite at times riding on busy roads, I never got "buzzed" once. The manufacturer claims 8000 LUMENS, and based on what I see I have no reason to doubt it. The only issue - and it's a REALLY minor one - is that the display light is a dark blue and is tough to see wearing polarized sunglasses. Then again, when training or racing I'm going to be keeping my eyes on the road and other cyclists in my paceline, so as I said, it's really a minor gripe. This is a really nice bicycle light pair and one that will allow you to ride at night on any terrain, and ride safely during the daytime. OVERALL - The weight weenies will gripe about the weight, but for me - I would rather be seen and be safe. KEEPER! ... show more

    • Very Bright but the mount is horrible
The aluminium build is solid, the light is very bright and battery capacity is good. This light has several brightness settings, the highest setting is very bright but will only give you 4 hours. Moving to the next level will give you 10 hours but you can clearly see a difference in the luminance. The build quality is very good. The light is larger compared to other bike lights I've tested. It supports charging other devices which is a nice option. The main issue I have with this isn't the light but the mounts. The package comes with 2 mounts so you can mount the light on two different bikes however the mounts are made of weak plastic. The light mount point has a tab that "locks' the light in place but its a very thin tab. The other problem with the mount is that the clip is screwed on instead of molded into the mount. I've tightened the screw as best I can but the plate still swivels. I'm afraid to tighten it more as this will likely strip the screw or damage the thin plastic of the mount plate. Comparing this mount to other light mounts I have this is very poor quality, which may explain how they can afford to provide two mounts. I would have preferred a single high quality mount as this seems to be the failure pont of this light. I had to take away 2 starts because of the mount it just doesn't look or feel solid especially compared to the weight of this light. ... show more
