🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Most customers appear to love the taste of these protein bars, highlighting the cookies and cream flavor that resembles an Oreo cookie. However, there were mixed reviews regarding digestibility, with some users finding the bars a bit heavy to digest and others recommending not eating them right before a workout due to a bloating feeling. One user found the bars to be hard and tough to bite, but overall they have been described as a good source of protein that could be used as a meal replacement.

Pros

  • 🍪 Great taste resembling Oreo cookies
  • 💪 Good source of protein
  • 🔄 Can be used as a meal replacement
  • 🥦 Contains high fiber content

Cons

  • 🧪 Contains a "bio-engineered" ingredient (possible GMO)
  • 🪵 Hard and tough to bite for some users
  • 🎈 Can cause bloating or heaviness in digestion
  • 🍬 Some users found them to be overly sticky/chewy

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a protein bar that tastes good and can potentially replace meals, and you don't mind a potential bloating feeling or chewiness, this could be a good choice for you. However, bear in mind that it may contain GMOs. If you have issues with digestion, you may want to eat it a few hours before a workout rather than right before.

  • Delicious, gluten-free, low-card and high protein? WOW!
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream Size: 12 Count (Pack of 1)
This review is for the Quest Nutrition Cookies & Cream Protein Bars. The Good: The TASTE!!! The high protein! Low carbs! GLUTEN-FREE! Low sugar! The Bad: The price. The Ugly: Seriously, the PRICE. The Long Review: These protein bars are really top-notch. They have great texture and mouth feel (rare in a protein bar!) and the flavor is spot-on. They definitely fill you up and can be used as a meal replacement, at least in my experience - always check with your doctor before making a major change to your diet! For me however, I went through a bar too fast initially by just eating it like a normal candy bar. So, to resolve that issue, I have taken to cutting up the bar into cubes. I find this gives me a LOT of little bites, very satisfying as a snacky person, and it takes longer to eat the bar, which allows me time to actually feel full. The only disappointing part to these is the price - Quest charges a lot for their product, and I assume this is because they know they have a real winner and people will pay extra for the high quality, great texture and fantastic flavors. Final Thoughts: If they don't break the bank for you, I highly recommend any of the Quest protein bar products. Whatever it says it'll taste like, it most likely will, and it will mimic the mouth feel (texture) as much as possible. ... show more

  • These do the trick!
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream Size: 12 Count (Pack of 1)
I work out 4-5 days per week and often struggle with getting enough protein in my diet These bars were highly recommended and have turned out to be quite helpful. I have tried several varieties, but the Cookies and Cream ones are my favorite. They are deliciously crunchy and creamy, not overly sweet, and have chunks of cookies inside. Eaten with a glass of milk they are quite filling; I always feel as if I have had a special treat! I often use them as an afternoon or evening snack and take them with me when I travel. Actually I keep one or two in my car just in case. They are convenient, individually wrapped, and quick and easy. Increasing other sources of protein in my diet, snacking on these bars, and continuing my workout regimen, my muscle mass has continued to develop along with improvement in my strength and stamina (I am over 70 years old). One thing alone has not been responsible, but the overall increase in the amount of protein in my diet has been aided by the addition of these protein bars. The only problem I have with them is keeping my non-exercising husband from eating them! Give them a try; I don't think you will be disappointed. Top 3 Likes: -Excellent source of protein and a yummy snack -Great taste and texture -Individually wrapped to go anywhere any time Top 3 Dislikes: -No dislikes for these treats! ... show more

  • Delicious and Less Costly than Store Bought
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream Size: 12 Count (Pack of 1)
I use these and also the Costco bars post-workout. They both have the best nutritional facts over other competing brands. Quest - the Cookies and Cream specifically - is by far the best tasting on the market. And here on Amazon, the price for a box is dollars cheaper than what's sold at our local Safeway/Giant supermarkets. Great deal for protein bars. ... show more

  • Good overall, but leaves an artificial aftertaste
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream Size: 12 Count (Pack of 1)
This is a product which shows completely that it is ultra processed. The taste is ok, it is sweet, it does not resemble with cookies and cream, but just slightly.

  • Protein, Fiber and Taste
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream Size: 12 Count (Pack of 1)
The Quest Cookies and Cream protein bar is packed with 21g of protein, 13 g of fiber, only 1 g of sugar, 190 calories and a pleasant taste. The bar is a little harder than cookie dough but is still soft and chewy. It is not as sweet as cookie dough but still tastes somewhat sweet and more like a treat than a high protein, high fiber product. Quest accomplishes the good taste without all the sugar by using the sugar alcohol Erythritol. Erythritol has been shown to be safe as it is excreted from the body in an unchanged form and is less likely to upset the digestive tract as it goes through the bloodstream and is excreted in urine rather than being passed through the digestive tract where other sugar alcohols can be fermented, resulting in digestive issues. Additionally, Erythritol does not result in increases in blood sugar and insulin (important for diabetics or those trying to lose weight or with insulin resistance). The ingredients indicate that these bars contain almonds. I can't digest nuts or legumes, however I don't taste the nuts and have not had any issues with digesting these bars, which has made me happy, because almonds have a number of nutritional benefits, but I'm guessing the amount present is probably pretty small, although they rank relatively high on the ingredient list. In terms of the proteins and fiber, Quest uses a blend of milk protein isolate and whey protein isolate, which has been shown to have a good yield and blend of amino acids. The fiber is in the form of polydextrose, a common prebiotic fiber. Overall, Quest has found a formula to make a tasty nutrition bar that is both high in protein and high in fiber (a benefit that most protein bars don't include), while being very low in sugar. Nutritionally these bars seem to offer a lot of benefits as well as being a tasty treat. ... show more

  • Better protein bars out there
Flavor Name: Cookies And Cream Size: 12 Count (Pack of 1)
Have been my go to for years now and compared to other protein bars there are good tasting and sit right in the stomach. These aren’t that dry only thing negative i can say is they are pretty hard and take a bit to chomp on but see it as a jaw workout.
