NOTE: This is the second of three flavors that I have tried. The review is relatively the same with adjustments made for flavor. I work out 4-5 days per week and often struggle with getting enough protein in my diet. These bars were highly recommended and have turned out to be quite helpful. I have tried several varieties , and these truly taste like birthday cake. They are delicious, creamy, cake-like, and very sweet.. Eaten with a glass of milk they are quite filling; I always feel as if I have had a special treat! I often use them as an afternoon or evening snack and take them with me when I travel. Actually I keep one or two in my car just in case. They are convenient, individually wrapped, and quick and easy. Increasing other sources of protein in my diet, snacking on these bars, and continuing my workout regimen, my muscle mass has continued to develop along with improvement in my strength and stamina (I am over 70 years old). One thing alone has not been responsible, but the overall increase in the amount of protein in my diet has been aided by the addition of these protein bars. The only problem I have with them is keeping my non-exercising husband from eating them! Give them a try; I don't think you will be disappointed. I've tried most of the flavors on here. My comments: Birthday Cake: -noticeably thinner bar compared to other flavors -sweet taste with an outer "frosting" coating--almost too sweet Apple Pie: -bits of apple in each bite that are noticeably a little harder and more chewy than the rest of the bar -can really taste the apple Blueberry Muffin: -chunks of blueberries and dry crumbles likely supposed to be muffin bits -very thick bar -not my favorite--in fact, I'd never buy these again Chocolate Chip Cookie: -tastes like cookie dough and looks like cookie dough but it's not very soft and chewy--it more breaks apart -no real complaints but not my favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter: -there's only a slight hint of peanut butter -not bad but not great Cookies & Cream: -fairly thick bar -chunks of what is supposed to be cookies and frosting -edible, but wouldn't know what I was eating if I closed my eyes Mint Chocolate Chunk: -the first bite is very minty and then there is a very strong bitter aftertaste that I can't place -big chunks of "chocolate" and "mint" pieces Oatmeal Chocolate Chip: -probably one of my favorites -mostly tastes like the real thing -very soft and chewy but not too exciting in terms of flavor Rocky Road: -not too bad but not very flavorful -there's a lot of crunchy pieces of almonds in this bar Smores: -probably one of my least favories -chunks of what are supposed to be graham crackers that have no taste and make the bar really dry and chalky when consuming Vanilla Almond Crunch: -don't taste any vanilla in this bar at all which is weird given its title -there are big pieces of almond that are crunchy -bar is really soft and chewy -tastes like bit-o-honey White Chocolate Raspberry: -always one of the cheapest flavors on here and so I was worried it would be gross but it wasn't -very sweet and a bit bitter with the raspberries -you can actually taste the raspberries and get the little seeds stuck in your teeth ... show more

This bar almost made me give up on Quest protein bars! It was just too sweet for me. Good at first, but after buying a whole box of it, I quickly got tired of the taste. It felt like junk food to me and I like more nutritious foods. I think it's good as a special treat maybe one time, for a birthday lol, but I won't buy it again.
