My 29lb dog (3 years) loves his wet Purina One Game Bird. I purchased it because it has “cooling” or “neutral” foods instead of “warming” chicken. He is less growly on this food than his more expensive food. I would keep with it but he chokes and throws up the tiny bones. We took him to the Vet and the x-ray showed little bits of something in his stomach. The Vet was not concerned and said the bits were small enough to pass; however, we are changing to Purina Beyond wet which does not list “by-products” which is code word for “can contain bones”. I would also agree with another reviewer that half of the cans in the case come dented. I think Amazon could work on their packing. Especially when I use subscribe & save and this heavy case of dog food comes bouncing around in the same box as everything else. ... show more

The dog food order before this order must have been setting in a very hot warehouse for a longtime because the oil separated from the meat. I was not aware until I received my recent order. Now I know why my dog was having constant diarrhea. I opened a can of the new order and compared it to a can from the remaining order. I immediately threw the other away. I feel you should be aware of this problem. Because from this point on I will one one can of dog food on arrival and it it looks like the above I will return it instead of subjecting my dog to Diarrhea. ... show more

I have a now 14 year old Great Pyrenees/Chow mix & he's always been a particular eater. He won't eat the same flavor of food 2 days in a row, so I am always needing new varieties of food for him. Since I'm shopping almost entirely online these days my choices are limited for what I used to get in stores. This was my first time ordering this flavor for him to try and he loved it so much I almost cried. I prepare his dish on a table, but he’s a big boy so he can always get his snout there to investigate what I'm doing. He got a whiff then a lick of the gravy on this and tried to jump up on the table. He has hip dysplasia and arthritis so his jumping days are over, but he was willing to try for this food. I hurried to get the dish down for him to eat and he devoured it. I had mixed it with a can of beef pate and some dry food, but when he ate it so quickly I immediately gave him a second can of this all on its own. I stopped at that for one feeding, but he definitely would have eaten more. Seeing him so eager over a food made it worth so much more than the asking price. These Purina ONE foods will be replacing Pedigree as the main brand that I buy. ... show more

Almost all of these cans appeared to be black on the top once opened. I'm not entirely sure why. I've ordered before and they weren't like that before. Makes me nervous to try ordering again, though.

Ordered a 12-pkg of Purina One SmartBlend True Instinct with Real Beef & Wild-Caught Salmon. First can opened was FULL of gravy with few "tender cuts". Garbage can! Second can looked much better with much more meat; scooped out meat with a little of the gravy. Jazz ate it. Next night, opened third can and look at what poured out. Can you find any meat in this disgusting plate? Oh, and by the way, my furbaby is on the way to the vet for extreme stomach issues including ... I won't go into the details. Now this is not the first time I have ordered this food for my dog, but obviously Amazon cannot compete with pet stores when it comes to dogfood. I am beyond upset, as you can tell, because my baby is sicker than a dog! I am VERY unhappy and very sad. No telling what the vet bill will be. I've been buying this product for over a year. I have 4 dogs, and overall this product was doing great. In the last month (April/May 2020), I have received two bad batches of 12 packs. The first one which was the Venison & Turkey, 2 of my 4 were sick. The last order of the Salmon- all 4 of mine were sick. Nothing changed in their diet except I opened a new 12 pack. I will not buy dog food from Amazon again, it was terrible and the dog that had the most, almost ended up with a vet visit thankfully after day 4 of bland food, she was back to normal. I'm not sure if it was in the warehouse in heat? It's not expired but it was enough for me to never try it again. ... show more

I don't know what happened, but I've been buying this for a very long time and it's been great! The last case I bought, the cans are half "gravy". So I have to use twice as many cans to feed my pup. That makes it very expensive! I'm going to order one more case and if it's the same, I will have to find another brand and flavor....again! I'm getting to the point where I might just start cooking my dog's food so I know what goes into it! ... show more

Essay #6 For this essay I chose to review the Purina ONE Grain Free, Natural Pate Wet Dog Food. This might seem really strange, but it is one of my family’s most purchased item on Amazon. We have a 100 pound Shiloh Shepherd at home who can only eat wet food due to her esophagus being paralyzed. We have this item scheduled for delivery every week. It is a “nutrient-dense formula” so our dog gets all of the proper nutrients and vitamins she needs, all while being able to eat normally. In reviews I’ve found, one person comments that “The grain0free food is one of Purina’s more sincere efforts to join the better canned food brands.” I really like how they are making an effort to eliminate having grain in the food because of how bad it is for the dogs. Ever since getting our dogs health issues under control, she has been so happy and healthy and we can give some credit for that to Purina ONE. The can is very easy to open, no can opener needed. There are zero fillers in this product which ensures that our dogs are getting all natural products which makes me more comfortable having to feed my dog this. The price is very, very reasonable as well. Being as this is the only type of food we can feed my dog, having to buy it almost every week can seem daunting, but we order it through Amazon and the price is very affordable for such a good quality product. Our dog loves it and howls before we feed her because of how excited she is to eat. This is a great product and I highly recommend giving it a try. ... show more
