At my annual physical I told my doctor that my feet hurt all the time no matter if I was standing, walking or laying down. I always have to keep two insoles in each shoe to cushion my feet. I cannot walk barefooted (or even if I’m wearing thick athletic socks). I always have to put my shoes on even for overnight bathroom visits. As my doctor examined my feet he pointed out the many calluses on each foot. He said that I needed “to take care of these calluses.” I asked him how would I do that? He said, “Go to Amazon, type in Gilden Tree Foot Scrubber and order one. After you take a shower your feet will be sufficiently wet to use the Foot Scrubber. Be sure to follow the instructions enclosed with your order. You’ll be tempted to try to completely remove a callus in one sitting but don’t do that! Just scrub off the layers that are moist, then stop and apply your favorite lotion to both feet. You must be patient and just take off a few layers at a time. Repeat this process until every callus is removed. Once success is achieved continue with regular maintenance.” My wife placed the order that same day and it arrived within a week. Following my doctor’s advice I started trimming my calluses. After each use I would clean and disinfect the Foot Scrubber. However, I couldn’t remove all of the imbedded scrapings after my last use so I went to the Gilden Tree website to seek help. Their posted solution is to clean it in the dishwasher. I put the Foot Scrubber on the third (the top) shelf which is just a horizontal flat surface to wash thin items. The next morning when I opened the dishwasher and pulled out the top shelf the Foot Scrubber was in two pieces. It had broken off at the neck between the fourth and fifth “ring”, so I called Gilden Tree. I spoke with Alison, who couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding. She helped me look up the order number on the Amazon website to confirm the purchase. (BTW, why don’t online companies send a receipt with each order you make?) Alison verified the information that she needed and is sending me a new replacement Foot Scrubber at no charge, even including the shipping! Alison could not have treated me any better. Her enormous kindness is the perfect example of how to deal with a customer’s problem!! I hope that every retailer in the world reads this account and adopts Alison’s technique because it is exactly what today’s consumers expect but very seldom receive!! (Why don’t you email this review to the Customer Service Department at each and every company that you do business with?) This is not Pumice, it’s terra cotta, but if they labeled it “terra cotta stone” nobody would know what to do with it. This is wonderful for exfoliating my feet - MUCH better than any pumice stone, and it doesn’t disintegrate like pumice. Cleans up super easy, too. I didn’t rate it for moisturizing, I don’t use it for that. But it does retain water, so I suppose it would be good for that if you exfoliated with a cream or even just water. There is a rough side for removing calluses and such, and a smoother side for massage. I wear a moisturizing sock to bed, then use this in the morning to remove softened dead skin. Works great. This will last for years. Highly recommend.

This is a great pumice stone. Better than I expected. The stone has both a coarse and a smoothing side. It really works well at getting the callouses off and to get your feet nice and smooth. The stone holds its shape well and doesn’t seem to wear down like others I’ve used in the past. Very durable and I will get more in the future.

This is the best stone I have ever used! My daughter saved one for Christmas and she loved it and recommended it. I bought myself one and it's makes my feet so soft. I have not had an issue with dropping it. I could see where that might be a problem for it breaking but it's a great purchase and especially considering the price.

I received this pumice stone and I thought it would be better than it was. Honestly I'll be going back to the two sided bar pumice stone. It may not last as long, but at least I feel a difference after using it. I wouldn't bye this product again.

Very good for removing the foot’s dead skin with minimal amount of work and no pain

My old pumice stone had gotten nasty and it was time to get a new one, but I didn't want to have to buy them so often. I found this one when searching and decided to give it a try. It has a coarse side and a smooth side. I usually just use the coarse side because I am already running out of hot water by that point, but it still works well! If I don't keep my feet exfoliated and smooth, my bedding gets all pilled up near my feet. This product is as effective as a pumice stone in solving that, and I believe it is priced fairly for the utility it provides. The handle on it, while small, gives a good grip on it ecen while wet, and contorted at a weird angle and off balance because I use it while standing. Overall I am very satisfied with this product, and if it breaks or wears down in the future, I plan on purchasing another.
