  • Excellent protective padded short that I have finally found this one for my downhill longboarding!
Overall: • This one is finally is the one I have been long looking for. Satisfaction: • I am so happy to have bought this padded short after I actually field-tested in hot summer 81 F degree with humidity and REALLY like it so much! Background: • Until now, I have been buying, inspecting design and protection coverage (seeing pictures is quite different from actually physically touching it with hands to feel the fabrics), skin contact feeling of the fabrics and pad placements, and then deciding to return many previously bought padded protective shorts for the reasons like, 'bad design, pads not good, fabric itching my skin, the seam is not well made, fabrics not durable, not breathable, not good air/heat ventilation. Test: • Temperature & humidity: 82 F degree with high humidity 75% or so summer • Heavy full-body Sweat and Heat: running downhill long-boarding each run 1 mile downhill with turning and sliding (i.e., heating up my body temperature so fast with full sweaty around the padded short) and paddling myself and the board uphill back to the top of the hill – I was fully sweaty and wet after several runs. Assessment and Opinions: ◦ Protection: ▪ Yes, though I did not fall down to actually test it. I was able to feel all the freedom to make all my needed movements to controls my fast turns, sliding, etc and I don’t feel any constraint at all. I did feel that those thick pads and make me feel more confident to do my maneuvering during my downhill speed long-boarding. • Conclusion: 1. This padded short is living up to what it claims – “excellent ventilation! My hip temperature is not that hot at all” though I can feel the heat around my hip. This padded short definitely is much cooler than all other kinds of padded shorts I have been using. 2. The extremely skin-friendly very soft-feeling fabric of this padded short is the best feature also. It stretches all directions and the most important factor is it is so soft and has zero skin scratching or itching - I have very sensitive skin to be irritated by bad fabrics. 3. The wick of sweat seems to work as the website claim. I don’t feel wet and watery between my legs or around my hip. 4. The extra think pads and the additional thick pad to protect the tail bones is also the best feature too since it is so common to fall on the tailbone for longboarding (similarly in snowboarding) for me. • Suggestion (for other buyers and for manufacture to improve to be even much better: 1. the tri-pads areas need to be smaller or change the shape to protect the greater trochanter bones exposure: when squatting down (a common technique in snowboarding and downhill long-boarding, also many active sports), the un-padded tri-pad areas will be stretched larger which happens to expose my both greater trochanter bones. If I fell down during this posture, my greater trochanter bones will directly hit the ground. With this fact, when choosing the size, you want to choose a bit larger size to prevent the stretching during squatting down – stretching the tri-pads meeting areas (both sides). 2. The seams can be changed to the in-side-out style to make skin-friend since I am not at all concerned about how the short looks (especially wearing my sports shorts or skate-pants. The skin-friend is more important than it looks! ... show more

  • They’re decent
Pretty good shorts for the money. Good tailbone protection. My gripe is that the hip pads are a bit out of position, too low and too wide so they don’t cover the hip bones well.

  • Very protective for hard slams at the skate park
Size: X-Large Color: Drawstring Black
I use these for skating ramps and bowls at the skate park on quad roller skates. They really do the job! I take some really hard slams and they do the job protecting my hips and tailbone. Especially good if I slip and hit the metal coping. They give me the confidence to throw down new tricks. I have to wear pants about 2 sizes too big to fit over them but they are well worth it. Would definitely purchase again. ... show more

  • Best snowboarding buttpads
These confirm to your body shape and provide the most coverage of any butt pads I’ve worn. I had button ones that don’t even come close to these. The thickness in the padding is superior, I feel confident that if I fall this will provide great protection. I hit park and have taken falls with these on and have not been hurt or I feel a very light impact that would’ve been painful had I not put these on. ... show more

  • Heavily padded all around
These are heavily padded all around, so much so that I had to slightly lower my seat post on my mountain bike. This isn't a bad thing but just an observation. Wearing them underneath my slim fit shorts, they appear slightly bulky and aren't noticeable at first glace. You really got to be staring at my shorts to really see that something was underneath. Again, this isn't a bad thing but an observation. With the heavy padding comes heat, these shorts feel like a SOW-nah so I immediately wash them after my mountain bike rides. Which led me to buy a third pair so there are no gaps in my mountain biking. I just hope they protect me when I do fall and if they don't, I'm going to be returning them all sweaty. ... show more

  • The orange pad hurts
So I had tried another pair of impact pants and they didn’t pad right on the butt on either side which, of course, is right where I landed. Twice. So I sent them back and got these. They fit fine they are a bit bulky which is to be expected. I tried them snowboarding this morning it was pretty cold about 6 degrees. I landed hard on my butt/tailbone once and that damn orange pad felt like I landed on a rock. I was all “how is this better?!” So if I went down I physically twisted to not land on that spot again. I’m riding home with a sore butt. Idk if it was the cold but I think that pad is too hard and not cushion enough. It shouldn’t have hurt my tailbone like it did. Update: fell on Monday and now it’s Thursday still have pain in my tailbone and a knot it’s either badly bruised or sprained. Pretty pissed about that. What’s the point of that stupid pad then? it hurt me worse than falling without it. Changed to one star because of this. I didn’t even fall super hard ... show more

  • The tailbone protection pad is a bit difficult to remove and insert
Size: Medium Color: Drawstring Black
Bag came in with zipper broken, took me a few minutes to get it fixed without a scissor or a knife. I wear Size Small, I re-ordered Medium because Size Small was too tight on the expandable waist ring. Overall very breathable, and the orange protection pad is great against a decent impact fall, although my tailbone did hurt a little bit upon impact due to the stiffness of the orange pads. ... show more
