I've had issues with previous adapters from Amazon where the threaded portion was too long and wouldn't screw down far enough on the stem to enable the Schrader head to activate the valve. These do not have that problem. I don't leave them on all the time but just keep them in my bags to use when I need to inflate my tires without a proper presta valve head. I wouldn't leave these (or any similar adapter) on full time since the valve on the presta stems isn't designed to stay securely closed without the acorn nut tightened. I prefer to know the valve is locked closed which you can't do while these are still attached. You could still store them on your valve stem if you put it back on after locking the acorn nut but I can't say if they'd come loose and fall off. Better to just keep them in the bag. ... show more

This is not a complicated part and does exactly what it's designed to do. It's aluminum and lightweight and allows me to fill presta tires with my air compressor. Just be sure to unscrew it completely when removing from the valve stem or you will pull the little rubber o-ring out. But it's pretty easy to put it back. And with 10 pieces for the same price, I now have these lying around all over the place wherever they're needed. ... show more
