Fantastic tank. Arrived in perfect condition. Easy to set up and looks fantastic. Not sure why some people say this tank is "expert only". You can buy that 5 gallon, pre-made saltwater at Petco and do 100% water changes every week with this tank for 6 weeks. If some pest is eating your coral in the tank, you can literally dip the coral and throw this tank in your dishwasher for sterilization. Rinse it out thoroughly, fill it again with saltwater, put your rock + coral back and you're ready to go. Complete tank tear down and reload in like 1 hour. Unbelievably easy. If you are new to reef keeping, you can use this tank, just keep 4 things in mind: 1) TANK COVER. This tank does not come with a cover, which it should in my opinion, because any evaporative losses will quickly increase the salinity, as the water volume is so small. So you should build a transparent cover for it, and get a wall outlet timer to control the lights. I cut some flexible vinyl for a cover, reinforced by green acrylic rods. 2) CORAL/ALGAE ONLY. You won't be able to keep any fish, crabs, shrimp, or starfish in this tank. It is definitely coral or algae only. God help you if you try to add fish or inverts to this tank, because if/when that livestock dies, the ammonia plume will kill everything in your tank if you don't catch it immediately, so don't do it. Also, you will have to cycle this tank with nitrifying bacteria, like any other tank. 3) NO FEEDING. You cannot feed anything in this tank. There is simply not enough filtration. You can do coral aminos maybe twice a week (that's what I've been doing, like 2 drops), but definitely no reef roids or any coral food like that. Also, don't try to dose anything in this tank, no kalkwasser, no magnesium, no calcium, no anything. Just do weekly water changes to take care of mineral replacement. 4) HEATING/COOLING. You likely will not be able to find a heater small enough for this tank, and even if you could, it would kind of be overkill. You will have to keep this tank somewhere where the ambient temperature is sufficient for coral survival. If you have AC + heating which works reliably year round, and the room never gets too hot or cold, you're good to go. If not, don't get this tank. My personal recommendation if you're a beginner is to add some small amount of macro algae and maybe 2 soft coral (xenia, zoa's, palys, etc.). If you don't ever feed them + do weekly water changes, you should be fine. Probably the easiest, least expensive, and least risky way to get into soft coral keeping in my opinion. Obviously, this is not the tank to put expensive acropora into. You won't be able to change the water flow in the tank, and it's pretty slow and tranquil. I added a small sliver of filter floss in the overflow area (left corner of display tank), and I added some frag plugs in the sump area for extra filtration. I also put blackout tape on the outside rear of the tank for visual aesthetics. I've been using this tank as my coral hospital, since there is very little flow, and observing pests is pretty easy. Some coral have started coming back and recovering in this tank. Love this tank! A very limiting form factor, but that's what makes it so cool IMO. ... show more

I frigging love this micro tank it has good flow and everything is in it ! Filter lights the whole set it’s great to grow pretty much any moss type or buce I’m sure and it’s so sleek and nice I’m in absolute awe everytime I look at it as soon as I’m happy with a way to arrange my plants I’ll hope to remember to upload pics ... show more

I love this tank! It has decent water flow, the AIO filter section is well thought out, and it comes with decent filter media. It's a great size for a desk top and runs perfectly silent. The spectrum is 50/50 white to blue, so don't expect your corals to pop too much with the stock light. My only negative is that the included LED light gets extremely hot; to the point where I felt the need to replace it with another light due to long-term safety reasons. ... show more

I only unboxed it, but initial thoughts are it is very well made. I will be using it to transport fish from LFS so that they are not marinating in a bag with their own excrement on the ride home. This holds a little more water than a fish bag and the temperature will stay constant and there will be mech, bio, and chem filtration (with added carbon) once plugged into a battery pack...so no ammonia and co2 slowly poisoning them! I bought a mini heater to go with it since it does not have one. I will also be using it for acclimating the fish. I will first be cycling with water that matches the LFS tank salinity, then use the tank to acclimate to home salinity. So the fish will only be in it for at most 3 hours. THIS IS IN NO WAY SUITABLE FOR A LONG TERM HOME FOR FISH. Maybe also good for a frag QT tank or really tiny inverts ... show more

I bought this as a accent piece for my plant table and to add some variety. It fits perfectly and does the job nicely. It is well constructed and good quality material. The light sits on top securely and is bright enough to grow live plants. Would make a super cute betta tank especially if stocked full of plants. This would make a great gift and would be perfect for a work desk or shelf at home. 5 stars 🌟 , would recommend. 👍 ... show more

I already love this tank! It's super cute and highly functional. It's going to make an awesome home for some shrimp! I'm loving the amount of filters, and I love that the control for the light and the pump are two easy little push buttons. Speaking of the light, it sits right on top in such a way that it's easy to put on, to move back and forth, and sturdy enough that you don't need to worry about anything. LOVE IT!!!! ... show more

This tank is much much smaller than I expected its about the size of a hand but you can hardly fit anything inside. I do like all the accessories that came with it. I think this is priced way too high for what it is.
