I would give this railing more than 5 stars if I could! It took both of us about a half hour to install. Our first dilemma was that the provided drill bit did not fit in our electric drill, but it did fit in our Ryobi 18V drill, but the Ryobi was not powerful enough to drill through the concrete (even with a fully charged battery). So, using the railing base as a template, we used a smaller concrete drill bit with the electric drill, creating 4 pilot holes. We moved the railing out of the way and then used the Ryobi drill with the provided drill bit to make the holes the correct size. Using a shopvac, we sucked up the concrete dust, tapped in the expansion tubes with a hammer, aligned the railing base over the holes, and then used a socket wrench to tighten each mounting screw. Did I mention I'm a 61 year old female? Easy to install! Very secure railing; it doesn't move! Highly recommend! ... show more

Well, being a gear head type of person, I figured out how to install this type of hand rail for the pool. First get all your parts, drills, drill bits , vacuum by the pool. 1. Set pool rail where it is going to be. 2. Mark holes using a magic marker. 3. Using a nail and hammer, mark the spot for each hole. This will keep the drill bit from wandering when drilling. 4. Using electrical tape, mark the drill bit ,using the anchor as a guide for depth. 5. Drill pilot hole with a smaller drill bit, with tape as depth guide. Vaccuum each hole 6. Using drill bit supplied, drill hole marked with tape for depth. 7. Vacuum out each hole, multiple times. 8. Take each anchor and LIGHTLY tap into each hole, make flush with pool deck. 9. Place hand rail into position for installation. 10. Place each bolt into designated hole, using a 1/2 inch socket, ratchet, proceed to tighten, but do not tighten all the way. 11. Finish tightening all the bolts, careful not over tighten. 12. Place plastic caps over bolt heads, if available. 13. Pool hand rail is now in place. 14. To ensure stainless steel does not rust, use a quality car wax and wax the entire pool rail. I use Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax, do this monthly to make it for last years. 15. Place grip cover over rail. 16. Done. Hope I didn't leave out anything. It worked for me. Key , like any piece of equipment, needs care to last a long time. After 2 weeks the base plate started to show rust around the area where the tubes connect and the edges. I applied a thin coat of GE Advanced Silicone 2 Kitchen and Bath, Tub and Tile Clear Silicone Caulk, you can get at Lowes. ... show more

    • Difficult installation
The handle looks and works out great for us but it was a royal pain to install. The drill bit that is included was a joke. It wasn't making any headway in drilling the holes necessary for installation. We ended up borrowing a jackhammer drill and buying a new bit.
