Overall a great product and better than plastic spacers. Nail/screw pattern makes for a nice uniformed look when complete. I did have to modify them for using on wood. The 1/8th spacer side is much shorter than the 3/16th side and has very little engagement on the rounded corners of 5/4 boards. Using a grinder and removing the stamped feature (bump) on the 3/16 side made both sides 1/8th and makes for full engagement along board depth. (See photos). There is no such thing as a straight board so these and a couple board benders are a must for a nice looking finished product. 5 stars if product came with the same length on both the 1/8 and 3/16 sides and didn’t need modification. ... show more

Used the 1/8" for treated deck. the 1/8" was just barely making a gap between the two planks of wood. If the 1/8" was a long as the 3/16" space, would have been easier to work with
