This has been a great purchase. It is easy to use and easy to start a fire in it. It only takes about 10-12 minutes to cook a personal pizza if it’s preheated. The cover is also a good quality and keeps it protected. Glad I found this!

I like this oven. It's an improvement over the Ooni 12 that my wife got me for Christmas. I felt I needed to "upgrade" just because the firebox on the Ooni is so small (size of a man's hand). With this, I can really get a nice fire going. Gets the stone up to 800 degrees easily. Here's why I stop short. I thought that I'd have less issue with stone heat loss with this. Not so. I think it would be better if Pizello put a door on this thing. The other reason is that the top portion that encases the stone does not conduct heat well. The stone may reach 800 degrees but the top of the oven just above is barely 200 at the same time. This is even after leaving the oven to heat for a long time before ever putting a pie in. Still better than the Ooni, though. Ultimately, I think I am going to have to build my own oven with a firebox above AND below to get the pie I seek. While this is a good pizza box for the price, it still falls a bit short, like others I've tried. ... show more

Assembly is easy, make a fire,put oven part on top to heat stone. Make your pizza or calzone, then slip it inside...people have said hard to control fire it goes out but 1 have fire and coal base established and of course when you put the top on it will die down some and smoke more at first you ate cutting the oxygen supply to the fire. As for maintaining fire 1 you can lift by handle to toss it more sticks or whatever but I just break sticks up and feed right through the front and back hand openings. Make sure to use plenty of flour on the stone and pizza peel so your pizza/calzone etc. Is easier to place in and remove. For the price a great buy! ... show more

Difficult to control temperature, have issue finding the number of briquets to put temperature to dissent 425-450: Started with 75 (3lb) briquets got to 300F, 100 (4 lb) gave me 325, 150 (6lb) 350. Tried using wood it burned to 700 and burned crust without uniformly baking. Does anybody tried to put insulation in the top, looks like it stops smoke from entering pizza section. Any help in right direction is appreciated. ... show more

I purchased this for my wife who has been asking for one for a year. It had good reviews and the price seemed more reasonable than some of these other ovens. But, you get what you pay for I guess. Once assembled and loaded with wood, the flames started building but were shooting out the corners of the bottom part of the over. My son, who was curious to see the pizza cooking was getting close to see the pizza, and I told him to stand back further and good thing, because just as I moved him back a 2 ft. flame shot out directly where his face would have been. Even with all that going on, my wife still wanted to try and finish the pizza, but no heat comes up over the top of the pizza and it was cooking from the bottom up. Pizza cooked unevenly and not well. Not a good unit and will be returning it. ... show more
