This is quite a nice printer for the money. This printer is incredibly small and compact, making it easy to take with me wherever I go. When I first pulled the printer out of the box, I was surprised by how light it was, but it still felt like a sturdy piece of equipment. Using scales, I measured its weight to be about 695 grams (without paper roll). I have another thermal printer model P831 from the same brand, which is similar, but I like this one better because I can install a roll of thermal paper inside the printer, while the other one requires you to feed the paper through it. I.e., I don't need to carry a stack of paper along with me, this one is just one box that magically spits out printed pages. Besides that, it supports a variety of paper sizes from 2' inches to A4 and Letter size, which makes it very versatile for any use scenario. The only downside is that it doesn't support color printing, which is not a big deal for me as I only print official BW documents. The setup is easy enough, but I did have some trouble connecting to Bluetooth at first. But the included instructions are clear about Bluetooth connection setup, so I was able to resolve it rather quickly. I had to double press the power button and the printer printed out a QR that I scanned with its Phomemo app and then the app was able to connect to the printer no problem. Once connected, the printer worked flawlessly with the smartphone. I was pleasantly surprised with its high-capacity 2600 mAh internal battery that allows me to print around 150 pages without ever recharging. This makes this printer perfect for on-the-go printing when you don't have access to a power outlet. The Phomemo app is straightforward and easy to use, which is great for people who aren't tech-savvy. You can print all sorts of things from the app, such as web pages, photos, and documents. The printing itself is quick, and the quality is surprisingly good for a thermal printer. It prints in 300 dpi resolution, which is comparable with my office inkjet printer. The text is sharp and easy to read, although I did notice that the thermal paper has a bit of a glossy finish to it and produces reflections on its surface when you hold it against bright light sources or sun. While I don't think that this printer will replace my office printer, for occasional use outside your office or home it's a perfect and cheap alternative. The fact that this printer only prints in black and white may also turn away some users who need color printing, but again, for BW documents its printouts are outstanding. The only concern I have is the cost of thermal paper, which runs about $20-$25 for a pack of 200 sheets, which is about 10 to 12 cents per page. It is surely more expensive than regular paper but not too bad taking into account that you don't have any expenses for toner or ink to print. *** TL;DR *** This Phomemo M832 portable thermal printer is small, compact, and easy to use with a straightforward app that allows you to print web pages, photos, and documents. It is great for printing on-the-go, but it only prints in black and white. It can print on both thermal paper and thermal roll. The app is straightforward, and the printing quality is surprisingly good. Overall, I think this is a great choice if you require a portable printer that you can carry around. This is a great portable printer that weighs less than 2 pounds. It can be used on the go or in your office. Simply download their app and it will allow you to control all of the functions of the printer. The printer utilizes thermal roll paper as well as several other types including standard 8.5" x 11" letter paper. This Phomemo M832 Portable Printer works well for us as we travel a lot and now we have the capability of printing high quality documents on the go. Since it is a thermal printer it requires no toner or ink which saves a bunch of money. They provide you with a small starter roll of thermal paper which is just that... a starter roll so if you're going to use the thermal roll paper you will need to order some immediately. I’ve tried several of these portable ink less printers but they all seem to have the same issue, paper alignment. Every printer I’ve tried seems to have a problem with page alignment and this one does the same. When you feed these single sheets the sheet will typically feed sideways and when you use a connected paper stack you also have the same issue after a few pages. The thing that this printer does better is that the paper inside is in a roller which does keep the sheet from going sideways. The issue here is that it’s a continuous roll of paper so you can’t really use the prints as regular sheets, it looks more like a large receipt. You would have to not mind this type of paper to want to use this particular printer. The description shows that the printer is compatible with continuous thermal paper sheets but I have some and it’s doesn’t really work. With the continuous sheets, the first page prints fine but each following print keeps printing lower and lower until the print ends between two sheets. If you tare and feed a single sheet it does print fine but you also have the issue where thermal paper is thinner than regular paper so it’s a bit difficult to feed. Overall the printer seems to work well enough compared to other similar printers I’ve used but portable printers in general do have an alignment issue. If you are only planning on only using proper rolls then this printer does work better than others I’ve used because of how much better the paper feeds through that method. ... show more

I have a couple of these types of printers, and the biggest problem with the direct-feed thermal printers is that the pages don't print straight. Regardless of how hard I try, the paper won't line up properly as it is drawn into the printer. It's fine for one-offs and such, but it is quite annoying. The rolled paper keeps this from happening, at the expense of having "receipt-style" rolled-up printouts. Still I prefer a bit of document roll, to a crooked printout. The only downside so far is that the printer manufacturer doesn't have replacement paper available. They say that it is on the way. ... show more

Be of the best portable printers I’ve ever use and I would say is on the market. It start right up fast and prints even faster. The setup to print from my phone was very easy after reading through the instructions. It’s got a quality futuristic printer kind of look which also gives it a top quality like value feel.
