  • Long battery life & humane
Color: Dark Grey
Fellow Chihuahua mix owners, this works! My dog is notorious about barking at animals on TV and viciously barking at anyone who comes through any door at our home. Which is comforting when you’re at home alone or at night when something is lurking around your house (in our case black bears) but it’s not nice when you are trying to have company over. We bought this hoping we wouldn’t have to use the shock setting & I can honestly say we’ve only had to use it twice! After two months of use I’ve only had to charge it twice, the durability is awesome, it’s easy to use, and now my dog quiets down after just seeing the remote pointed at him while we has the collar on. And I love that I can disable the shock setting by taking off the metal piece! It makes me feel better as a pet parent. ... show more

  • Amazing!!!
Color: Green
I was hesitant to buy this since it was so cheap, but I am glad I did! The tone is the perfect volume to get my dog's attention, and I can hear it as well (my other one was so quiet; I could never tell if it was working). I haven't had to use the shock option, but the vibrate option gets my dog's attention, and she stops the bad behavior. It is definitely waterproof since my dog has gone swimming each day she has worn it, and there have been no issues. The battery life is amazing. We only need to charge it every 3-4 weeks, and we use it everyday! I'm glad I took a chance on this product! ... show more

  • Do it now!
Color: Light Grey
First of all, the quality of the device is pretty good. I have not had any issues and don't expect to have any. Second, I purchased this for a 3 year old corgi that would chase our other two cats almost constantly causing us to rearrange the house to accommodate both species. She would also bark at anyone walking by the house and if me and my wife would hug, forget about it. She would bark even at the anticipation of us hugging. We have never used the shock function and don't intend to. You can just leave the electrodes out, preventing any accidental presses. The Beep instantly causes her to rethink what she is doing. If she gets too out of hand we press the vibrate button and she instantly hates it. For anyone on the fence about buying this, try it! It has made a huuuuge difference in our household and I regret not getting it sooner. ... show more

  • Really helping
Color: Dark Grey
The charge lasts a long time and I don’t have to turn it on and off to save battery. Quality is good. I only wish you could adjust strengths of each setting and have it saved. For example, I use the beep as a warning, the vibration and a stronger warning and then rarely he gets to the shock but the shock is my last warning. The vibrate he is a level 6 and shock is a 9. I think it goes up to 18. But I have to constantly change the level when switching between the settings. It’s easy to change though, just push a button. Range is great and it’s not heavy on his neck. Just be careful, the remote is not chew proof lol ... show more

  • Nice training collar
Color: Dark Grey
Super easy to assemble and use. I bought this to train my Cane Corso pup and the vibration strength was enough that I never had to use the shock part. They worked well at the beach as well, even when the pup went in the water - although not fully submerged just for splashing. Would not recommend allowing your dog to swim with it on. ... show more

  • Best Bang for Your Buck: Read the User Manual
Color: Dark Grey
The media could not be loaded. After extensive research on training collars, this training collar ranked toward the top against other competitors due value and features. Since this was a rather inexpensive collar, and I expected to spend more, I was skeptical and did further research by reading the reviews to ensure I was making the correct decision. Having said that, I also did extensive research on the purpose of dog training collars, how to use them, and how important it is to know the breed of your dog. Many dogs have different energy levels, temperaments, and every dog will respond differently. To me, the most important thing is to understand "WHY?" you are using a training collar because you need to do what's best for you, and your pet. I read quite a few negative reviews on this device, and many of the issues I believe were simply addressed in the user manual. 1) Fully Charge Your Device - we made sure the initial charge lasts for at least 4 hours. 2) Set Up the Receiver Properly - there is a step-by-step process on how to install the contact points. There is a separate process for short hair vs. long hair dogs. Test the shock function to ensure it works. 3) Slowly Introduce the Collar to your Pet - We started by going on a short walk making sure it was snug around her neck. We introduced the different types of stimuli starting with Noise, then Vibration, then Electric Stimulation. 4) Start on the LOWEST Setting - This device has 16 stimulation settings, and regardless on the size of your dog, you should start on level 1 until you reach a level that immediately breaks their focus of your dog. Our dog weighs 25 pounds and LVL6 was enough to not want to receive another. 5) Talk Less, Reinforce More - I believe the goal is to give a command once. When she obeys, we praise with treats, "good dog," or stroke her shoulder. 6) Take Breaks - we made a decision to not wear more than 6 hours a day. She is to only wear when we go outside and when she is free in the house. We take off at night and when she is in her crate. Hope this addresses the battery issue. 7) Not for Punishment - If this doesn't work, professional training should be considered. Results so Far: After 2 days, our dog has been shocked twice, and she did NOT like it. We start with a beep, then a series of beeps, then vibration, then continuous vibration, and then if she doesn't correct - electric stimulation. We are beginning to take walks without a leash and she is responding very well. Since I hope we won't need this device for long, I'm not concerned with how long it lasts. PatPet offers a 180 extended replacement policy for defects. UPDATE: After a few months, this collar continues to reinforce our training with negative reinforcement. She no longer bites, does not leave the house unless instructed, and does her best not to jump on strangers. As the unwanted behavior begins to diminish, we have incorporated the heavy use of treats for positive reinforcement. I had one experience with customer support that was satisfactory. We lost the rubber covers for the metal contacts. We simply emailed customer support and provided our Amazon order number and they sent us replacement parts. They even expedited the shipping! ... show more

  • Worth it
Color: Green
Bought this to help keep my puppy in her boundaries. I don’t use the vibration or the shock. All I have to do is use the ring and she pops up her head and immediately runs to the door. Best investment

  • Range
Color: Light Grey
I have a medium-size 46 pound dog and this training collar is good and effective with a short range of approximately 50 to 60 yards. Once you get past that distance, the signal seems to fade and stops training the dog but for short distances it works extremely well.
