  • Perfect for removing water rings when refinishing furniture
I used this in the process of refinishing the top on a Broyhill Brasilia credenza. This was a collectible and desirable piece of furniture, and I wanted it to look correct when it was finished. It came to me after ~60 years of regular use, so it needed some attention. The top had a lot of flaws in the finish and several dark rings and stains from water/condensation. I stripped the top with a green stripping product, then removed the remaining finish residue with a furniture refinisher product and cleaned the surface with mineral spirits. I then used this acid (very mild solution with water) and applied it to the bare veneer with a spray bottle, applying a light misting on the surface and then gently working it in with a sponge. After letting it dry, all dark rings and stains were gone and the wood looked like new! I treated the surface with a solution of baking soda and water, wiping away any remaining acid. I then lightly sanded the surface and proceeded with the new finish. It came out looking like new. This stuff works! ... show more

  • NO DIRECTIONS ON THIS TOXIC PRODUCT!!!
I’m very disappointed that this toxic product has no directions! I purchased this to clean iron stains from a crystal based on a google search. I have no experience using this and thought I could follow the directions/precautions but THERE ARE NONE! I couldn’t find any on the product website either. I have not opened it yet and may return it. ... show more

  • Worked amazingly well
There were several darks patches on the butcher block in the kitchen and I mixed up one teaspoon to 8 ozs of hot water and then spooned it on in long strips across the dark spots and truly within 15-20 minutes it was virtually gone. The spots hadn't been there long so not sure if the stain is really old if you'll need more time or more than one application but I'm really impressed. ... show more

  • Mostly effective but not infallible
Used this to get black water stains out of a mid century teak coffee table. I applied an oxalic-water solution once, waited, then flushed with baking soda and water. Dried, waited and then repeated. Ultimately, this removed about 4/5 of the black although to be fair, some stains ran pretty deep in cracks. I also liked oxalic acid's very light bleaching effect on the table surface as it helped clarify the natural grain and color prior to sealing and applying teak oil. ... show more

  • Good value
Item as described, shipped fast, and worked well. Please note that there are no instructions in the package as to how to use this, but you can easily find this online, depending on what your needs for the acid are (it has multiple uses).

  • No instructions. Didnt work
There were no instructions so had to research how much to use to lighten leather. I used 1 ounce acid to 1 pint water. Didnt change the color of the leather at all. Waste of money

  • Did what it was supposed to do!
This worked perfectly on a large black ink/water spot on a piece of furniture I redid. 4oz will go a long way with this stuff.
