  • For Our NICU Son
Color: Bedtime Blue
Our son came 5 weeks early and his lungs weren't fully developed. This resulted in rapid breaths, wild swings in his blood/oxygen levels and heart rate that necessitated a NICU stay. We got this before heading home and he's been wearing it for a month now, every time he sleeps. This has been an absolute Godsend for my wife. She was so worried about him, as was I, but she was practically glued to his side. However, after watching the companion app readouts with religious fervor, she's slowly seen his stats read steady and it has made her feel much better. It's helped her relax quite a bit. She also appreciates that she can check on him when he's at home and she's running errands. It's accurate and gives great peace of mind. If your baby is having issues similar to ours, this is 100% worth it. There are some cons. I wish you could pair the sock directly to a smart phone so you could use the sock while you are out and about. Instead, it has to be paired to the base unit that is then hooked into your home internet. The sock has to stay in range of the base for it to read. From there, you use the companion app to connect to your network in order to check the stats. Secondly (and this is admittedly a small, almost insignificant issue), the battery in the sock doesn't last as long as it claims. After a full charge, the app will tell us the sock battery has about 16 hours of time left. However, it rarely lasts longer than 12-13 hours and the actual tike listed can vary greatly from how long it actually lasts. For us, our son sleeps a lot, so it stays on him for long stretches. It would be nice to have the battery time be a little more accurate. ... show more

  • By far my favorite baby product
Color: Dusty Rose
I could not sleep a wink without the owlet being on my baby. My first daughter had me up every 5 minutes to make sure she was still breathing. She also had GERD and would throw up in her sleep often and I’d be afraid she’d choke. We bought her an owlet then and sold it later on. We bought the sock and camera duo for our newest little girl and the deal we got first of all was amazing. And second the peace of mind this offers couldn’t compare to anything else. The only flaw with this product is the app. The app is awful. I’m glad the base station will work with or without the WiFi and app connection, because it will randomly not work for me. Buy this and sleep so much better knowing your baby is safe if you’re a ball of anxiety like me ... show more

  • Good product
Color: Mint
Easy to use once set up, took us a bit to get the monitor all connected with WiFi/app. Works great once set up. Nice for tracking little ones heart rate, oxygen and just to look back at when they were in a light or deep sleep or awake.

  • Frustrating…
Color: Bedtime Blue
The good: The sock & app bring peace of mind when they decide to work. I love being able to put my baby to sleep, bring up the app, and monitor his sleep. The app tracks his sleep patterns, tells you if he’s awake in light sleep, in deep sleep, and it even tells you the baby’s sleep windows. The app itself provides real time data for your baby’s heart rate, oxygen level, and overall it’s great to pair with our baby monitor. The bad: I don’t know if it’s just our sock/base station, but we’ve been experiencing almost nightly issues with the sock that I finally decided to not even use it tonight. First, on occasion, the sock can be paired with an app, Houck will sometimes forever to load. Sometimes I close and refresh the app, turn on and off the base station, and then magically sometimes it will display the data. Secondly, and my biggest issue is we keep getting regular “yellow” errors, which indicate either a sock placement issue or a connection issue. We trouble shoot by checking the sock and our base station is located no more than a foot from our baby’s crib, which is also in our room. He’s not wearing some type of special wireless blocking tin foil hat special military grade swaddle, and my son is almost always asleep in my arms, not moving in any way to tamper with or kick off the sock, but we get constant alerts that it’s a placement or connection issue…and my problem here is we’ll do the common IT guy pro advice and just turn the base station on and off and voila! The base station goes back to green without us ever relocating the base station or even having to check or adjust the sock. This problem is annoying because I’ll be trying to put my baby to sleep and the base station lets out the loudest beep when it goes yellow…which inadvertently wakes my son up or then I have to try “silence” it while holding my son. The app developers need to add a way to mute the yellow alerts after the first time. Surely there must be a way to have the base station continue to turn yellow while giving silent alerts to the phone if one is using the app? I would not recommend this product at this time. ... show more

  • Peace of mind
Color: Mint
This product will give you peace of mind. The sensor however has been acting up lately. I can't leave with my son if the sensor isn't right next to him. Otherwise it will go off stating connection issue. We literally go 50 feet into the next room. I love that it alerts for low oxygen saturation and low heart rate, it also alerts to rapid heart rate. We have not installed the camera yet so can't talk on that. ... show more

  • A PP Anxiety Life Savor
Color: Bedtime Blue
As a first time mom I was on the fence about purchasing the owlet dream sock due to mix reviews. After my first few nights at home with a newborn and staying up all night staring at him I knew I need to find something to ease my anxiety. I ordered the owlet dream sock and have no regrets. The app is user friendly and also has education regarding newborn sleep schedules. After plugging the sock to the charging base it took both an our to reach full charge (17 hours). You will receive different sized “socks” to ensure the best fit for your little one. ... show more
