Basic amount of assembly out of the box. Just some screws to attach the base plate, the top back handle and the front tip over guard. Maybe 5 mins. This is a very basic heater. There is a big rotary knob on top: Off, 1, 2 and 3. That's it. There is no fan to force heat. There is no thermostat on/off. There is no auto on/off at a set time. It's basic, and I kind of like that. My only wish would be a timed off(at the price level). 2-4-6-8hr off timer would be nice. I am not a fan of the wire "hat" it wears in front but I understand it's there for safety. And it doesn't get hot. Where this heater shines, is the amount of heat it puts out. I was surprised at how much heat I could feel even at the low setting. Even without a fan forcing out hot air it radiates heat very, very well. This heater easily warms a small room. Even on low. It's silent. The heater is fairly tall. On carpet the narrow base can mean it won't be super stable. Just FYI. Is it worth the listing price? Well, it's on the high side. Personally, if it's reliable, I would go 90-100 tops. Other than the price nit and no auto off timer though, I will recommend this heater for the amount of heat it puts out. ... show more

    • Works great and safer and more portable than others
We use one other outdoor heater on the back porch but it is very heavy and needs propane to work, which is extra scary on a wooden deck. I ordered this as a possible replacement, or at least to use on the front porch. It is SO much easier to move and it works great! I feel much safer with this one and will likely buy a second so that I can have one for both porches (which are fairly large) and can move them closer or further from wherever people are sitting. I'm used to buying a face chord of wood every year for outdoor fires and warmth. I love fires, I love the calming nature of them etc. But sometimes, I just want to be outside, or am having enough company that we all don't fit comfortably so want to be outside, but not everyone wants to get smoky. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this heater is actually worth it's value. It's better than any space heater I've used in the past. Heats up and stays heated even for medium and large houses. Kept me pretty warm on my porch. I like that it comes with a remote, and turns off if accidentally knocked over. I hope it lasts multiple deep winters. Warning though it takes a lot of electricity so be warned it's not cheap to run. ... show more

This electric patio heater is the best. Our heat went out over a few weeks ago and we have a relatively large home. To say the least, this heater was a life saver. It takes no time getting heated. It was so easy to set up in our space which is what we needed with 3 kids. I like the safety features m, for sure. It will not overheat and it will turn off if it gets knocked over which is an A+ with 3 kids and 2 dogs. It works like a charm and I live the fact that I did not have to get from under the covers to change the temperature because It comes with a remote!! I absolutely rate this a 5 out of 5 without a doubt! It is the best and it kept my family warm for 4 days until we were able to get someone out to fix our heat! I love that these can be used outside and inside. I'll be trying this out in my sons room this winter. I have taken it out of the box and plugged it in to test it out. It heats up quickly and it's safer than most space heaters.
