  • Oliso auto lift
Color: Turquoise
This is my third oliso iron and I am disappointed that the on/off switch for the auto lift is gone. It was one of my favorite features. Every time you have to adjust the project you are ironing, the auto lift kicks in. The sound can be very annoying over time. There used to be a switch that disabled it. That is the reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

  • It’s good
Color: Turquoise
I was hesitant to spend so much on an iron. This one is worth every penny! It has features I didn’t know if I would need or not like the automatic lift when you stop ironing. Now, I don’t know how I every did without those features. I plan to take very good care of this sewing tool. It definitely lives up to the hype. Highly Recommend! ... show more

  • Works well for a quilter and their needs.
Color: Purple
I like that this iron does not timeout as quickly as my other iron that I use for quilting. The raising up feature took a little getting used to but now I am glad it does not stay down unless I have my hand on it. Would recommend it to anyone.

  • Easy handling
Color: Yellow
In quilting there's a lot of repetitive motion in pressing the many units. Moving the iron from the resting position is more ergonomic. The iron stays ready to press, doesn’t leak, and the sole plate glides without drag across the fabric.

  • Getting used to not doing normal habit
Color: Purple
It's taking some getting used to not standing it up between but is easiest iron I've ever used. Heavier but that means better ironing/pressing Love it recommend it highly!!

  • I love it so far, the color could be better
Color: Mimi G
So I had the TG1100 that ONLY lasted 4 years... It stopped heating. I needed a new one and decided to "invest" in the updated version. So far... I thought without the button on/off on the back for autolift it was going to get messy... Sorprisely not. It is quieter than the old version and before on the old version since I am lefty it wouldn't recognize my left hand and lift back right away as I was pressing. The new version recognizes my hand and it is way better. Tge temperature has also improved when I used to iron everything on max heat and steam on the tg1100 on this one I have to regulate it because it does heat. Which is great. So far I love it. I got the Mimi G and the ironboard covering to match. The only complain it is the color. While on the pics look beige and light colors, on the real life it is caramel brown and toasted colors. Which I dislike. So I have lowered 1 star because of the missleading images. I atrached pics. Judge for yourself. ... show more

  • I hate this iron so far- 2nd Update After 2 Months
Color: Purple
2nd update- after two months of almost daily use... I still feel like a three star rating is appropriate for this item. I do like the auto lift feature however I work on large pieces of fabric and quilt blocks. I struggle with space on my 18inch wide ironing board for this iron to sit and auto lift. The auto lift feature is nice for smaller blocks. The steam functionality is ok. There aren't many holes for the steam to come out on the plate. My Rowenta's plate has hundreds of steam holes. This iron has 1/10th the holes and they are only located on the middle. The steam burst and spray buttons are awful. They are located on the top of the handle... which if you stop holding, activates the auto lift. It's just uncomfortable for my thumb/wrist. I have conceded to keeping a separate spray bottle pn my ironing board. The water tank seems small... or at least I seem to run out of water fairly quickly. I still feel like this iron is too light weight. I did use this to iron a shirt and it worked ok. It's an iron. My final thoughts for now on this are: if you work on large pieces of fabric or fabric that firmly holds wrinkles, this might not be the best solution for you. If you work on blocks with lots of piecing, this speeds up the process with the auto lift. If you like a colorful iron... this iron will work for you. I'm going to keep my electro-shock iron and the Oliso. They seem to both have what the other doesn't. My opinion remains unchanged... the price point for this product is based on its novelty rather than its functionality. 1st update- after two weeks of me forcing myself to use this iron… my rage response has dissipated slightly: I am a quilter so I picked this iron because I needed a longer time before my iron would auto off. For the most part, this iron has done this for me. The auto lift has proved itself useful but I had to convince myself it wasn’t going to burn my ironing pad. I did decide to use distilled water. Spitting hasn’t been prevalent. With that said, I did notice some water staining and subsequent browning of my ironing board cover. It is minimal but it was a new cover and is a visual annoyance for me. The steam function is still substandard compared to my Rowenta. The rating might have been better if the iron was at a better price point.*** ***Original Review: This iron feels like a cheap toy. I am super disappointed. I wanted to treat myself and replace a 15 yr old Rowenta that seems to be leaking from the bottom. At this point… I feel like risking electrocution over using the Oliso. The auto lift seems pointless after testing it out. I hate how light it feels. The steam burst button is chintzy. If you want to stand it up… it’s wobbly because of the “feet”. I have hard water so I use distilled water. I now have to mix distilled water and tap water together to avoid issues. Can’t just use distilled (which I prefer). I can’t believe this is what 200$ gets you now. I miss the early 2000s… I’m going to continue to use it because returning stuff isn’t my forte. I’ll update this review if my rage response improves with use. ... show more

  • Oliso where have you been all my life?
Color: Purple
I do a lot of quilting. I had your standard iron for eons. I watched some quilting videos (Missouri Star mostly) and thought maybe my issues were the iron. I sucked it up and spent the money on the Oliso. Not only did it fix my issues, but it's a cool little unit to use. I love the lift feature. It's a little weird to get used to, but I now know a good portion of my issues was my flipping iron!! ... show more
