  • Best wireless guitar system in this price range, period!
I’ve been using the Nux 5.8GHz wireless guitar system for almost a year now with my Taylor acoustic 214CE (uses an active pickup) and it has worked flawlessly. For my Stratocaster I use an Xvive system and both guitars are played at rehearsals and live gigs. As far as going wireless, I’ll never go back to cables again. I’d originally purchased two Xviv units - one for each guitar, but the Xvive sounded awful on the Taylor - all top end, shrill and tinny, without any low end. I immediately returned it and kept the other Xvive for the Strat which seemed to sound OK, although I need to adjust the Strat’s neck or middle pickup tone knobs to compensate. After doing a ton of research on various mid-priced wireless units I discovered Nux. What a difference in sound quality - my Taylor acoustic sounded identical to a cable! Because Taylor guitars can be a bit top-end and trebley, the cable emulation switch on the Nux helps tame excessive thin-sounding notes by rolling off a bit of top end. It’s a subtle difference - simple adjustments to my guitar’s equalizer or the amp will produce similar results. A plus for Nux vs. Xvive - when I walk near a particular light switch in our rehearsal room while playing guitar, the Xvive makes a loud squeal while the Nux unit remains quiet. This might be due to the Xvive using 2.4GHz, but there’s no 2.4GHz devices in the room; the light switch is just a regular 110-120 AC switch so go figure. Maybe the Xvive circuitry is less shielded from electrical interference. Another plus for the Nux is the charging case; after a gig or rehearsal is over and the band is packed up, I simply press a button on the Nux case to start charging the transmitter/receiver inside the case and then dump the zipped up case into my carry bag; I don’t need to remember to charge it later. By the time I get home, the Nux is fully charged and ready to go, but not the Xvive. Gotta remember to charge it, sigh. The most important difference between the two units is tone quality; the Nux sounds the same as a cable but not the Xvive. In retrospect, I should have bought two Nux units and avoided Xvive altogether. When the Xvive eventually dies, I’ll replace it with a Nux. ... show more

  • No interference
I have a 2.4 GHZ wireless system that works great.... when it's not fighting for space in the wireless band. Otherwise it drops out, from a little to a lot, depending on how many things me and my neighbors are running at any given moment. Of course, we can't have that BS going on while I'm trying to practice. This system is VERY easy to use, and it hasn't hiccuped once since I got it. The charging case is a nice treat too, so your devices are charged AND protected when you're not using them. I like too that the device can fold so it's not protruding from the guitar so much, which my 2.4 transmitter does not do. All in all I'm VERY happy with this setup. 2 thumbs up! ... show more

  • Go get one today!
So far, so great. This wireless unit worked superbly last weekend when I played at my church. Strong signal, no clicks or popping when I used the mute feature (which is essential between hymns and liturgy music)—flawless performance overall. No one realized that I wasn't using my previous setup at all. I didn't hear any loss in signal between my acoustic guitar and the amp. In fact, my wife thought the sound quality was better than playing through my normal D'Addario cable with mute switch (and that is a great, heavy-duty reliable cable with good signal and pure tone). I'm quite impressed. I have purchased other NUX products, and all of them have been reliable and high quality, so I am not surprised that this wireless system is working well. The battery life is long, and the storage container/charger are also well-designed. I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

  • Cant use it for line level
I purchased the NUX C-5RC set about 30 days ago. I've ben using it for acoustic and bass guitar. It operates flawlessly in those instruments. I recently aquired two Bose S1 battery powered speakers. I tried to use the Nux transmitter as a line level link to the second speaker. Worked fine...for about 10 minutes. Then the second speaker cut out. Is there any way to turn off the "auto-sleep mode/timer"? This is really an important issue for me as I need to do my gigs wirelessly. Thanks for replying to my question. ... show more

  • Great product.
I’ve used a Nu-x B-2 in the past with excellent results. I decided to add another ( the Nu-X C-5RC ) to my rig. I sometimes use more than one guitar during performances. Having both of them wireless makes it quicker to switch between them. Is there anything that can be done with my older Nu-X B-2 concerning battery replacement? I’ve noticed that it seems to stop working sooner and shorter. They used to last for several hours. Now they only last about 20 minutes. ... show more

  • Great device, with HUGE MAJOR SHOW-STOPPING FLAW
First, the item is superbly designed. The box+charger is great, the TX and RX are small, elegant, well built. Pairing is easy and the sound is superb. If you are away from any radio frequency interferences. In a house, your router, wireless and electrical appliance make the unit "hiccup" and that totally defeats the purpose. It is impossible to improvise while waiting for the next "hiccup" to occur. So for all its very real qualities, this thing is useless to me, totally. I will return it and I strongly caution you about believing the hype about 5.8GHz being "interference free". That is simply not true. ... show more
