Description

Dual Overdrive Pedal Stacked with Tubeman MKII and Morning Star ACE of TONE is a dual overdrive pedal stacked with Tubeman MKII and Morning Star. 2 classic overdrive circuits in one compact enclosure. Versatile modes and routing design to enhance the tone variety. In the left corner - Tubeman with FAT mode. Tubeman offers way more clarity and gain than any classic Tubescreamer, and we modified the circuit with a useful secondary function by simply holding the foot switch - FAT mode. It cranks way more bass response to enhance the low-end yet makes the tone warmer. In the right corner - Morning Star with SHINE mode. Morning Star is based on legendary Bluesbreaker circuit: very transparent, low gain drive. Like our Morning Star, it also features a simple FOOT SWITCH HOLD to engage the iconic SHINE mode. In SHINE mode, you can get way more treble sound to make your tone crystal-clear. Control Panel Left side (Tubeman) DRIVE Knob:Controls the gain of Tubeman circuit. TONE Knob:Controls the treble frequency of Tubeman circuit. LEVEL Knob:Controls the volume of Tubeman circuit. Footswitch:Engage/disengage Tubeman circuit. Hold it for 1 second, you can turn on/off FAT mode. FAT Indicator:While you engaged FAT mode, the indicator will turn on. =================================================================== Right side DRIVE Knob:Controls the gain of Morning Star circuit. TONE Knob:Controls the treble frequency of Morning Star circuit. LEVEL Knob:Controls the volume of Morning Star circuit. Footswitch:Engage/disengage Morning Star circuit. Hold it for 1 second, you can turn on/off SHINE mode. SHINE Indicator:While you engaged SHINE mode, the indicator will turn on. Routing Toggle Switch:You can adjust the order from Morning Star to Tubeman or Tubeman to Morning Star. It’s very useful to stack the sound. Input / Output, Toggle Switch Input: Connect your guitar side to INPUT jack. Output: Connect the OUTPUT signal to amp side. EXT. SW: You can use external foot controller (like NUX NMP-2) to remote this pedal. BF / TB Toggle Switch: BF means Buffer-Bypass, TB means True-Bypass. You can choose BF while you connect with several pedals in your signal chain to solve tone-loss situation. 18V/9V Toggle Switch: ACE of TONE can double the voltage internally while you toggle to 18V position, that can increase dynamic range and headroom. DC Jack Use ONLY: 9V Negative Tip power with 100mA.

  • Sounds digital, good attempt
This pedal had a lot going for it - beautiful build, interesting flexibility, lots of promise. Unfortunately the tone just left a bit to be desired. Its a bit honky and never really sounds dynamic or something other than a bit lifeless. The gain is pretty nice, I found the sparkle and fat modes too extreme in either instance - they also made the pedal work worse with itself. The sparkle setting sounded OK but became harsh quickly, and the fat setting just sounded sterile. I think the tone stack lopped off too much lows and openness but it seemed like what you get from digital emulation rather than analogue. The eq's sounded too brash. That said, it was close, a bit of tweaking, maybe on a V2, could make this a pretty cool pedal. ... show more

  • I mostly love this pedal!
I bought this and a Wampler Pandora (way more expensive) and I like this one better for sure. The Wampler seems more compressed and not in a good way, where the Nux is a little more open and responds to dynamics a little better. I don't like either one of the switching systems though. They're using an electronic switching systems in these newer pedals and there's a tiny gap of silence while it switches, which is just enough to be irksome if you're doing quick switching between rhythm and lead. For reference I'm a 50+ year pro player and have ~10 overdrive pedals including Okko Diablo, Morning Glory, Rockett Blue Note, Soul Food, Tube Screamer, etc. Not sure what Amazon is asking with their "sheerness" star rating, though. Heard a boatload of adjectives in the guitar world but not "sheerness" LOL ... show more
