I should have realized that these were metric when I had to use a 7mm bit for them to fit right in the hole. You can get a 3/16 cable through them if there is not one strand out of place but they are way tighter than they should be. They are obviously made for a metric size cable. So if you can find something else save yourself a lot of aggravation. If you can't find anything else they will work but really difficult to thread 3/16 cable through ... show more

As headline says, it makes the railing cables (and the whole thing) much nice looking. Because of the tight fitting (a good thing to have), it takes some extra effort to get the cables passing through the sleeve grommets. Tips: Wrap the end with a scotch tape when inserting and passing the grommet. Give some extra length when cutting the cable before installing. May need to cut off an inch after passing every few ones. ... show more

The sleeves are fine but the drillbit supplied is a tad too small they need to drive the sleeves into the post with a hammer. I use my own drillbit and trailer to 5/16 inch hole.
