  • I thought it was going to be a lemon but…
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
Ordered it just for fun, how can you pass up a cheap knockoff Strat? Well right out of the box it’s actually fairly well-tuned and didn’t need any work other than actually tuning it. Sounds great. Little buzz in the tone knob but I’ll clean that up easy. Great for a beginner or if you want to Frankenstein it up. Not kidding. 5 stars for cheap but also great. Bought a Tele model too, couldn’t pass it up. ... show more

  • For people willing to do some work
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
Okay, bad news first. There were some quality control issues. The bottom of the shipping box had a hole in the bottom, which I blamed on the USPS at first. When I open the box, there was no packing material, and it turned out the strap button had come loose and dug a hole through the gig bag and the box. Then I noticed it had three knobs labeled "tone," although it is wired correctly. That being said, I will say the raw tone is very good. The neck is COMPLETELY untreated and unfinished, so it may not feel right to all, but gives you the option to do what you want, like rub it down with a finishing oil. The pickups are the usual generic ceramics, but are a good starting point and let you see how the body sounds. This is an OKAY guitar for beginners. This is a GREAT guitar for modding. The basswood responds to the pickups very well. I bought it because I had some out of production Lawrence pickups laying around so I wanted a cheap guitar I could do an hsh configuration with. The body is routed for an hsh configuration, so if you're willing to change the pickguard and pickup switch and don't mind a little sanding of your new pickguard, you can do almost anything with it. The important thing is, the body itself sounds great, and it's cheaper than buying a kit. And you won't have to paint anything and the only drilling you'll need to do is for the new pickguard. (The missing knob in the last photo is because I wanted 1 vol 1 tone because I do a lot of palm muting.) Update: the cable that came with the guitar stopped working. I almost replaced the jack on the guitar until i tried a different cable. So make sure you add that to your list of purchases. ... show more

  • Happily Though Not In Love
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
purchased this for a light strat body. Wood is basswood in density. soft but appropriate strat shape and feel. good typical finish. btw...tremolo is horrible, replaced with a Wilkinson model, much better. Replaced the pickups with alnico 2. pick guard, replaced just for aesthetics. Rear tremolo cover was textured plastic. not exactly spec fender. neck playable, however, see photo, replaced mine with a 7.25” radiased neck. The neck it comes with is 9.5” and hard maple. Usable but begging for some sandpaper at the edges. ... show more

  • Good beginner guitar. Damaged gig bag, need replacement!
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
Nicely setup. Just had to make a few adjustments for it to be just how I needed it to be. The bottom of the gig bag got damaged in shipping, I'm trying to figure out how to request a replacement. The strap knob cut through the bottom of the gig bag and made a mess of it from bouncing around during shipment. Very happy with the guitar considering the price! I still have no help from the vendor in replacing the damaged gig bag. How do I contact you to arrange for this. ... show more

  • Know what you’re getting.
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
This is the third Indio I have purchased. The first two were Tele style. I bought them to modify. The strings are cheap. The pots are very cheap. The pickups are very very cheap. But the body and neck are okay. If that’s all you're going to use then you should be okay. However, this one was the exception. There was multiple holes drilled trying to get the pick guard on. None of the screws Were in straight. The headstock was not cut straight. The output Jack mount was not on straight. The finish had something all over it. I spent three hours filling holes, fixing the headstock, and buffing the finish out. Just don’t believe all the YouTube reviews about how great this is. It’s a $90 guitar. As long as you know that, and plan on trashing everything but the body and neck, you’ll be okay. ... show more

  • body was cracked, tried contacting seller to no avail
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
the guitar is fine as a whole, build quality is not great but ok for the money...mine had a crack in the body at the neck joint...the sharp wood cut my finger, i had to cover the crack with tape to keep from cutting finger again...

  • I'm stunned at the quality. This was the cheapest strat. But it plays like a more expensive brand.
Color: Sunburst Style: Guitar
Nice and loud.. I like the body and neck. And the pick ups sound great. Easy to fret to form chords. This Indio guitar is a great deal. I think it as good or better than squier. The neck is just like a squier. The pick ups have a good sound to them not too microphonic.
